摘要： Additional information is transmitted, in conjunction with message signals which are transmitted over a data switching center belonging to a public switched network. The data switching center is connected to teleprinter subscriber stations and teletex subscriber stations which are capable of transmitting and receiving message signals in accordance with different transmission procedures. The transmission of message signals between the subscriber stations occurs over at least one signal converter connected to the data switching center. After an occupation of the signal converter proceeding from a teleprinter subscriber station, the corresponding digital information are deposited in a memory of the signal converter by the data switching center upon each attempt to establish a connection from the signal converter to a teletex subscriber station. Under certain conditions, together with the message signal transmitted by the teleprinter subscriber station and contained in the signal converter, the additional information are emitted from the memory to the teletex subscriber station after a successful completion of a connection between the signal converter and the teletex subscriber station.

摘要： A data exchange system is connected to at least one signal converter in which digital signals emitted from teletex subscriber stations are converted so that they may be processed by teletex subscriber stations, and vice-versa. In order that the load on the signal converters may be as low as possible in the event that digital signals cannot be deposited in the desired subscriber station, the data exchange system is additionally connected to at least two special teletex transmitting/receiving devices. These teletex transmitting/receiving devices can be operated by a special call signal only in the event that a teletex subscriber station or a signal converter is currently unable to deposit digital signals in the desired subscriber station. In response to such operation of the teletex transmitting/receiving devices, the latter is supplied with digital signals which cannot currently be deposited, together with additional information which enable the establishment of a connection to the desired subscriber station. Subsequently, the teletex transmitting/receiving device is able to transmit the digital signals which it has received, on the basis of the additional information, to the desired subscriber station.

摘要： A method is disclosed for establishing connections from subscriber stations or transmission lines connected to a data exchange system to signal converters. The data exchange system receives information concerning the free state or busy state of the signal converters. For this purpose, it is provided that, having forwarded the signals with which it has been previously supplied for signal conversion, the signal converter emits a special free signal which may differ from an accompanying signal indicating the end of signal transmission and which changes the busy state signal ("1") indicative of the busy state of the signal converter directly into a free state signal ("0").
