The integral sealing member is removed when the assembly is mounted onto the ink jet apparatus.

A developer for electrostatic images comprising a binder medium and a pigment dispersed in the binder medium is disclosed. This binder medium comprises (A) a thermoplastic or rubbery polymer containing a member selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom and a nitrile group at a concentration of at least 100 milliequivalents per 100 g of the polymer and (B) a binder having a melting temperature lower than that of the polymer (A) at an (A)/(B) mixing weight ratio of from 1/20 to 1/1. The halogen- or nitrile-containing polymer (A) is present in the form of fine particles dispersed in the continuous phase of the binder (B). This developer has good flowability and charge characteristics at the developing step and shows an excellent offset-preventing effect at the fixing step.

The pulverized feed supplies to the first classification step is classified into a first classified fine powder and a first coarse powder, which is then pulverized in the first pulverization step and recycled to the first classification step. The first classified fine powder is supplied to the second classification step and classified therein into a second classified fine powder and a second coarse powder, which is then pulverized in the second pulverization step and recycled to the first classification step or the second classification step. The second pulverization step is effected under the action of an impact force which is smaller than that exerted in the first pulverization step.

The developing device is supported by a developing frame, and the toner container is mounted in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The toner container having a toner frame has a toner containing portion containing the toner therein, a toner supply opening for supplying the toner contained in the toner containing portion to the developing device, and a toner seal for openably sealing the toner supply opening. A take-up member, disposed in a space formed by the developing frame and the toner frame being coupled together, is provided for taking up the toner seal.
