摘要： An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet conveyance section that conveys a sheet; an image forming section that forms an image on the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveyance section according to an image signal; a sheet heating section that heats the sheet on which the image is formed by the image forming section; and a curl straightening section that straightens curl of the sheet after the sheet is heated by the sheet heating section. The sheet heating section curls the sheet in a different direction according to a sheet thickness. The curl straightening section includes: a first curl straightening section that straightens the curl of the sheet curled in a first direction for curling thick sheet; and a second curl straightening section disposed on a downstream side in a sheet conveyance direction to straighten the curl of the sheet curled in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

摘要： A fixing device includes: a first rotating member; a second rotating member that extends along the first rotating member, sandwiches a recording medium with a toner image formed thereon between the first and second rotating members, rotates together with the first rotating member, and heats the recording medium to fix the toner image on the recording medium; a heating device whose circumferential surface circularly moves while contacting an external circumferential surface of the second rotating member, and the heating device heats the second rotating member; a temperature detecting device disposed to face the external circumferential surface of the second rotating member without contacting the external circumferential surface to detect a temperature thereof; and a cleaning device cleaning the circumferential surface of the heating device and disposed between the heating device and the temperature detecting device along the surface of the second rotating member.

In the driving mechanism, the second driving force is applied to the driving force transmission member after the cam is stopped in a state where the cam comes into contact with the supporting member on a small radius end of the cam.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a recording material transporting path that extends in a direction from bottom to top of a body of the image forming apparatus and transports a recording material, a fixing device provided on the recording material transporting path, which includes a rotatable heating member that has an internal heat source and a rotatable pressure member that forms a nip area with the heating member by being located in contact with and pressed against the heating member, to nip the recording material for carrying out a fixing process, and an ejection guide member that guides a recording material ejected from the nip area to the outside of the image forming apparatus. The ejection guide member has a guide surface formed to intersect a tangent line of the heating member at the most downstream point of the nip area, and the guide surface intersects the tangent line at an obtuse angle.
