Abstract: A medical device includes: an end effector configured to apply treatment energy for treating a living tissue according to supplied power; a drive source configured to supply the power to the end effector; and a processor configured to classify, in a first time period after a supply of the power to the end effector is started, the living tissue into any one of a plurality of tissue types based on a first parameter detected in the first time period, control an operation of the drive source after the first time period based on the classified tissue type, reclassify the classified living tissue into any one of the plurality of tissue types based on a second parameter detected after the first time period, and control an operation of the drive source based on the tissue type into which the classified living tissue is reclassified.

Abstract: In an energy treatment system, circuitry temporally detects an electrical property value of an ultrasonic transducer. After an elapse of predetermined time since a power supply outputs electric power by first output power, when determining that the value has started gradual decrease, causes the power supply to change the electric power from the first output power to second output power smaller than the first output power, and after the change to the second output power, when the electrical property has gradually increased, causes the power supply to change the electric power from the second output power to third output power larger than the second output power.

Abstract: In an energy treatment apparatus, maximum source electric power of source electric power output from an electric power source is defined, first energy is generated by supplying first driving electric power to a first energy generator due to the source electric power, and second energy is generated by supplying second driving electric power to a second energy generator due to the source electric power. A controller keep the sum of the first driving electric power and the second driving electric power that are supplied per unit time less than or equal to the maximum source electric power of the electric power source continuously with time.

Abstract: A processor of an electric power source device exercises control over a power output before a control switching time point based on a value related to initial impedance, and determines the control switching time point upon detecting that a value related to impedance of a living tissue is at a minimum. The processor sets a set electric-power value of the power output based on a parameter related to controlling the power output before the control switching time point, and performs constant-electric-power control by controlling the power output using the electric-power value at and after the control switching time point.
