Abstract: An image pickup system includes a light source unit configured to perform illumination; an image pickup unit configured to output an image pickup signal; a pre-processing unit configured to generate a first image signal, a second image signal, and a third image signal, each corresponding to one field, and sequentially output the image signals; and a synchronization processing unit configured to selectively assign the image signals sequentially outputted to a first color channel, a second color channel, and a third color channel. The synchronization processing unit switches first assignment processing for assigning the first image signal to the first color channel and further assigning the second image signal to the second and third color channels and second assignment processing for assigning the first image signal to the first color channel and further assigning the third image signal to the second and third color channels.

Abstract: An endoscope system, wherein a processor reads out light distribution information which is information indicating a relationship between an arrangement of an image pickup device and a distribution of illumination light emission positions and which includes information about a light distribution angle of illumination light and the number of illuminating portions, a part of parameters of a light adjustment parameter and a parameter flag from an endoscope, and controls amounts of light of the illuminating portions by selecting the part of the parameters with priority over the light adjustment parameters at time of selecting the light adjustment parameter based on the light distribution information, if it is specified by the parameter flag that the part of the parameters are used for the light adjustment.

Abstract: An endoscope apparatus includes: a detector configured to detect a movement of an organ that moves a subject and output a detection signal; an image pickup portion configured to pick up an image of the subject and output a plurality of picked-up images; and a freeze processing portion configured to calculate a movement evaluation value evaluated according to the detection signal of the detector for at least some of the plurality of picked-up images, and determine a still image from the plurality of picked-up images based on the evaluated movement evaluation value.

Abstract: An image pickup system includes: a light source portion configured to sequentially emit first illumination light and second illumination light; an image pickup portion configured to perform image pickup of return light from an object; an image generating portion configured to generate a first image corresponding to return light of the first illumination light and a second image corresponding to return light of the second illumination light, each of which corresponds to one field, and sequentially output the first image and the second image; a synchronization processing portion configured to simultaneously output images corresponding to a plurality of fields, selectively assigning the images to three channels of a display apparatus; and a control portion configured to set image assignment to and image update frequency for the three channels based on an evaluation value acquired from the images generated by the image generating portion.
