Abstract: A trocar including a distal-end tube portion that is disposed inside the body and has a first inner hole through which a medical device can be inserted; a proximal-end tube portion that is disposed outside the body and is connected to the distal-end tube portion, the proximal-end tube portion having a second inner hole that communicates with the first inner hole and has an axis which can be disposed in a direction not parallel to an axis of the first inner hole; and a movement facilitating portion that is disposed on at least one of the inner surface of the first inner hole and the inner surface of the second inner hole to facilitate the movement of the medical device inside the inner hole.

Abstract: An optical signal transmission module is provided, in which a lens surface for condensing light emitted from an LD configured to convert an electrical signal to an optical signal and emit light of the optical signal is integrally formed on an end portion of an optical fiber, a mounting substrate for the LD to be mounted is configured with a specially-shaped substrate, and a fixing portion (a fixing hole portion) for the optical fiber to be fixed is integrally formed on the mounting substrate, at a position where the light emitted from the LD (the light of the optical signal) can be incident on the lens surface.

Abstract: An endoscope includes: an insertion unit; an imaging unit to image a subject under examination and output an electrical image signal; a light modulation device to output an optical image signal based on the electrical image signal output from the imaging unit; a first light cable inserted in the insertion unit to transmit light emitted by a communication light source to the light modulation device; and a second light cable inserted in the insertion unit to transmit the optical image signal output from the light modulation device outside the insertion unit. The communication light source is different from an illumination light source emitting an illumination light for illuminating the subject under examination. The light modulation device modulates the light transmitted by the first light cable to generate the optical image signal.
