摘要: Disclosed herein is a fecalith treatment system for the removal of an impacted fecalith from a formed diverticula. The fecalith treatment system having an endoscopic device having a steerable line configured to be introduced into a patient via the endoscopic device; and an articulable fecalith treatment device coupled to a distal end of a treatment conduit that is configured to be received therein the steerable line to be delivered to an operative position within the patient. Subsequently, the fecalith treatment device is configured to allow for the removal of the impacted fecalith without damaging the underlying diverticula tissue.

摘要: The present technology relates to systems and methods for delivering a dilator sheath to a target location within a patient. The dilator sheath can include a guidewire lumen configured to receive a guidewire. Embodiments are provided in which an interference fit between the guidewire and the guidewire lumen facilitate steering of the dilator sheath in at least one direction. Methods of delivering the dilator sheath are provided. Methods of delivering a medical device with the dilator sheath are also provided.

摘要: A method for operating a medical device includes measuring a configuration of a tube, receiving a desired configuration of the tube, determining an actuation input to bend the tube to the desired configuration, and transmitting the actuation input to at least one force transmission element that is actuatable to alter the tube between a flexible state and a stiffened state. Altering the tube from the flexible state to the stiffened state includes simultaneously applying first and second tension forces to first and second force transmission elements, respectively, to compress and shorten a length of the tube. The method further includes receiving a first command to place the tube in the flexible state, reducing longitudinal compression on the tube in response to the first command, receiving a second command to place the tube in the stiffened state, and longitudinally compressing the tube in response to the second command.

摘要: According to some embodiments, a method of treating a subject having diabetes or symptoms associated with diabetes is provided. The method includes delivering a neuromodulation catheter within a vessel (e.g., hepatic artery) having surrounding nerves that innervate the liver (e.g., sympathetic nerves of the hepatic plexus). The method may also include modulating (e.g., disrupting, ablating, stimulating) the nerves by mechanical compression, energy delivery, or fluid delivery.

摘要: A transapical removal device that can be deployed in a catheter procedure to capture for removal or alteration a mitral valve clip or heart tissue, such as the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve, and methods of use are disclosed. The removal device includes a delivery catheter configured to be deployed near a mitral valve using a guide catheter. The delivery catheter has a snare head at the distal end, which assumes a collapsed state during movement of the delivery catheter through the guide catheter and deployed state for capturing a mitral valve clip or anterior leaflet. The snare head has one or more ablation delivery catheters configured to ablate tissue surrounding the pre-positioned mitral valve clip or anterior leaflet. In some arrangements within the scope of the present disclosure, the removal device includes a deployment mechanism for deploying a new transcatheter valve into the mitral valve.

摘要: A control unit that includes a braking system for fixing the position of an endoscope tip is provided. The control system includes an up-down control knob and a right-left control knob. The brakes are engaged by rotating the control knob itself counter-clockwise from a free wheeling position. After the brakes have been engaged, a sufficient amount of force applied to the control knobs will move the endoscope tip slightly in the corresponding direction, allowing for fine tuning of tip position after braking.

摘要: A wire driver for driving a wire or pin into living tissue includes a rotating drive shaft, a collet, and a wedge. The collet is held fast to the drive shaft and has a plurality of feet radially moveable relative for grasping the wire or pin. Each foot has an outwardly located curved ankle surface with a concave or convex profile. The wedge is disposed over the collet and is at least partly inside the bore of the drive shaft. The wedge rotates with the drive shaft and has a tapered inner surface in selective engagement with the curved ankle surfaces. The wedge is moveable longitudinally relative to the collet feet to bear against the feet and cause the feet to grasp the wire or pin. The wedge has a release position in which the wedge is spaced from the collet feet, releasing the wire or pin.

摘要: A surgical system comprises a manipulator arm, configured to secure to a base, and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly includes an instrument mounting bracket and a plurality of actuator disks supported on a first end of the instrument mounting bracket. The surgical system also includes a surgical instrument including a plurality of interface disks supported on a face of the surgical instrument. The plurality of interface disks is configured to mate with the plurality of actuator disks. The instrument also includes an attachment mechanism configured to removably attach the surgical instrument to the actuator assembly and an instrument body tube extending from the face of the surgical instrument. The instrument body tube is capable of passing by or passing through the instrument mounting bracket when the surgical instrument is attached to the instrument mounting bracket.
