Abstract: A trigger switch according to one or more embodiments may include a first conductive plate (movable electrode) movable in response to movement of a trigger receiving a depressing operation, and a second fixed electrode (fixed electrode) located adjacent to a movable range of the first conductive plate with a space in between. The second fixed electrode forms a capacitor together with the first conductive plate. The capacitor formed by the first conductive plate and the second fixed electrode has a capacitance that changes as the first conductive plate moves.

Abstract: A trigger switch TS includes a trigger 1 receiving a press through an operation of an operator to be movable to a deepest position in a press direction. The trigger includes: a base shaft member 11, to which a trigger cap 10 is removably attached; and a limiting member 14, supported by the base shaft member to be operable, and able to limit a movement of the trigger. In the trigger where the trigger cap 10 is attached to the base shaft member, if a first press is received, the movement is limited at a limited position not arriving at the deepest position through the limiting member in a limited state. With removal of the received first press, the limiting member transitions to from the limited state to an unlimited state and, if a second press is received following the removal, it is possible to move to the deepest position.

Abstract: A trigger switch TS includes a trigger that moves in a pulling direction in response to pressure of a pulling operation and moves in an opposite direction to the pulling direction in response to being released from the pressure. The trigger switch TS includes a lock guide 6 (movable engagement member) that moves in conjunction with movement of the trigger, and a ratchet ring 7 (restraint engagement member) that engages with the lock guide 6 to prevent movement of the lock guide 6 in the opposite direction to the pulling direction. The ratchet ring 7 allows the lock guide 6 to move in the pulling direction, and engages with the lock guide 6 to prevent movement in the opposite direction from a position to which the lock guide 6 is moved in the pulling direction.

Abstract: A trigger switch which includes a trigger, a shaft member, and a housing includes a fixed engagement portion and a movable engagement portion which is operable that are engaged with each other to inhibit a movement of the trigger. The trigger includes a trigger cap and a holding member that holds the trigger cap and is supported by the shaft member. The trigger cap has a restricting portion and may be attached to and detached from the holding member. When the trigger cap is detached, the movable engagement portion moves to an engagement position, and inhibits the movement of the trigger by a pressing operation. When the trigger cap is attached, the movement of the movable engagement portion is restricted by the restricting portion, and the inhibition of the movement of the trigger is released.
