摘要: A rack adapted for receiving one or more components is disclosed. The rack includes a backplane, a pair of side panels extending from the backplane and internal support members on each side to receive and mechanically guide an initial alignment of components upon their initial insertion in the rack. A pair of male connectors mounted to the backplane is configured to mate with a corresponding pair of female connectors of each component to mechanically guide a final alignment of each component when the component is further inserted in the rack. Mechanical guidance may also be provided by, or supplemented with, a connection capable of providing liquid cooling to the rack. A system including the rack and the component inserted in the rack is also disclosed.

摘要: A method of limiting a total power delivered by a power distribution unit having a plurality of output connectors is disclosed. A configurable power threshold is assigned for each of the output connectors so that a sum of the configurable power thresholds of the output connectors does not exceed a maximum rated power for the power distribution unit. A power level of a given output connector is sensed. A delivery of power by the given output connector is stopped when the power level of the given output connector exceeds the configurable power threshold for the given output connector. Power delivery may be resumed in response to receiving a user command to rearm the given output connector. A power distribution unit adapted to limit its total power delivery is also disclosed.

摘要: A system for electric system failure detection and localisation in a datacenter comprises a plurality of power distribution units (PDUs), each of the plurality of PDUs comprising a plurality of electric power outlets and is configured to sense one or more power parameters relating to each of its electric power outlets, generate electric system operating data, and, upon receipt of a request, transmit of the electric system operating data to a networking device. A plurality of communicating circuit-breakers, connected to the plurality of PDUs, emits status signals. The networking device, communicably connected to the plurality of PDUs via a first datalink and to the plurality of communicating circuit-breakers via a second datalink, is configured to detect and locate an electric system failure based on the electric system operating data and the status signals. A method for electric system failure detection and localisation in a datacenter is also provided.

摘要: A method of preventing disjunctions in a power distribution unit having a plurality of output connectors is disclosed. A power level of each of the output connectors is sensed. It is detected that the power level of a given output connector exceeds a fixed power limit. In response to the detection, a delivery of power by the given output connector is stopped while maintaining a delivery of power by a remainder of the output connectors. Power delivery may be resumed in response to receiving a user command to rearm the given output connector. A power distribution unit adapted to prevent disjunctions is also disclosed.

摘要: A system comprises a rack, a support member, and a component configured for being supported in the rack by the support member. The support member is selectively insertable in the rack and comprises a plate at its rear end, the plate extending at an angle from a direction of insertion of the support member in the rack, the support member further comprising a first liquid connector mounted to the plate. The component comprises a second liquid connector mounted on a rear edge of the component, the second liquid connector being connectable to the first liquid connector when the support member and the component are inserted in the rack. A method comprises mounting the first and second liquid connectors to the support member and to the component, respectively, inserting the support member to the rack, and inserting the component in the rack until both liquid connectors are connected.

摘要: A fluid circuit monitoring system for monitoring a fluid circuit includes a pressure sensor for sensing a pressure of fluid flowing in the fluid circuit and an interface member fluidly communicating the fluid circuit to the pressure sensor. The fluid circuit monitoring system may be used to monitor a pressure or temperature differential between an inlet and outlet of the fluid circuit and determine a fluid flow rate of the fluid circuit. The pressure differential, temperature differential, or fluid flow rate can be logged and used to determine if preventative maintenance should be performed on the fluid circuit.

摘要: A method of positioning a rack onto a base structure is provided. The rack includes a support member for supporting the rack on the base structure. The method includes: affixing a positioning tool to the base structure; aligning a guiding opening defined in the support member of the rack with the positioning tool affixed to the base structure; lowering the rack onto the base structure such that the guiding opening receives the positioning tool therein; and removing the positioning tool from the base structure once the rack is in a desired position atop the base structure.

摘要: A rack adapted for receiving a component, a system including the rack and the component and a method of delivering power to the component mounted in the rack are disclosed. The rack comprises a backplane, a power panel, and a main controller. Each stage of the backplane includes a backplane power connector and a backplane data connector that are respectively connectable to a component power connector and to a component data connector when the component is inserted in the backplane stage. The main controller detects an insertion of the component in a given backplane stage by receiving a signal emitted by the backplane data connector of that backplane stage, acquires a set of power parameters of the component, and causes the power panel to provide power to the backplane power connector of that backplane stage according to the set of power parameters of the component.

摘要: A flow detection device comprises a fluidic input port connected to a fluidic output port via a channel and a float located within the channel. A specific weight of the float exceeds a specific weight of a fluid injected in the flow detection device. Respective locations of the fluidic input port, of the channel and of the fluidic output port on the flow detection device cause the float to rise within the channel when a sufficient flow of the fluid is injected in the flow detection device. A sensor is provided to detect a position of the float within the channel. The flow detection device may be integrated in a cooling circuit having a cooling device for an electronic device to detect an eventual lack of a flow of a cooling fluid in the cooling circuit. A status of the flow of the cooling fluid is reported to a processor.
