Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for resource cleanup in communications networks are disclosed. One method for resource cleanup in a communications network comprises: at a policy control function (PCF) comprising at least one processor: receiving, from a binding support function (BSF), a first notification indicating a potentially stale or inactive first binding record, wherein the first notification includes context data associated with the first binding record; determining that resource cleanup associated with the first binding record should be performed; and initiating, using the context data, resource cleanup associated with the first binding record at one or more network entities.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for communicating RAN congestion status information for large numbers of users are disclosed. In one example, a method for communicating RAN congestion status information for a large number of users includes steps performed PCRF including one or more processors. The method further includes receiving a user-specific message from an RCAF. The method further includes determining that the user-specific message indicates that one or more eNodeBs monitored by the RCAF is congested for a plurality of users using the one or more eNodeBs for radio access to a telecommunications network. The method further includes, in response to determining that the user-specific message indicates that the one or more eNodeBs are congested, performing one or more actions to mitigate the congestion.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to systems and methods for efficiently cleaning up resources within a network by bundling binding session audit requests. A binding support function (BSF) may determine support for bundled audit requests and unbundled audit requests at one or more policy control functions (PCFs) associated with potentially stale session binding records at the BSF. Based on audit support function at the PCF, the BSF may determine whether to bundle audit requests together, issue unbundled audit requests, or not issue any audit requests. PCF support for bundled or unbundled auditing may be provided via a network repository function (NRF), via headers in binding creation or update requests, or both.
Abstract:
An example system includes a service proxy controller and a number of service proxy workers. The service proxy controller is configured for providing routing policies for a telecommunications network core. The telecommunications network core includes network functions communicating using a service-based architecture. Each service proxy worker is configured for routing telecommunications network core messages between a respective subset of the network functions by consuming the routing policies from the service proxy controller and enforcing the routing policies from the service proxy controller. Each service proxy worker is configured for providing network status reports to the service proxy controller based on the telecommunications network core messages.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for transmitting Diameter peer status information are disclosed. According to one method, the method occurs at a first Diameter node. The method includes determining Diameter peer status information for Diameter peer nodes, wherein the Diameter peer status information includes connection statuses for each of the Diameter peer nodes. The method also includes generating, using group related information indicating a masking order for the connection statuses, a mask indicating the connection statuses, wherein each of the connection statuses is indicated by a value stored in a different position in the mask and sending the mask to a second Diameter node.

Abstract:
A method for extending new radio (NR) usage indications to an application function (AF) includes, at a policy and charging rules function (PCRF) including at least one processor, receiving an indication of NR usage by a user equipment (UE). The steps further include determining that an AF is subscribed to receive indications of NR usage for the UE. The steps further include, in response to determining that an AF is subscribed to receive indications of NR usage for the UE, communicating the indication of NR usage to the AF. The steps further include receiving a message from the AF to effect a change in service provided to the UE based on the indication of NR usage. The steps further include effecting the change in service provided to the UE based on the indication of NR usage.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for using user defined session description protocol (SDP) rules are disclosed. According to one method, the method occurs at a policy and charging rules function (PCRF). The method includes receiving at least one user defined SDP rule, wherein the user defined SDP rule includes at least one SDP parameter reference for referencing at least one SDP parameter. The method also includes receiving SDP information in an SDP related message associated with setting up a session. The method further includes determining, using the at least one user defined SDP rule and the SDP information, a policy related rule associated with the session.
