摘要： There is here provided an image display apparatus that adjusts a change of a drive condition resulting from an electrical resistance of a matrix wiring of a display panel scarcely using a hardware.The apparatus has an adjusted image data calculation unit that generates adjusted image data that is the image data to which adjustment is applied for relaxing an influence of a voltage drop caused by the electrical resistance of a row wiring for the input image data of one horizontal scan interval, wherein the adjusted image data calculation unit is provided with means for discretely forecasting and calculating a voltage drop amount in the space and time directions, to be generated on the row wiring during the one horizontal scan interval corresponding to input image data and means for calculating the adjusted image data in which adjustment is applied to the image data.

摘要： In order to obtain a satisfactory image by making a peak luminance of an image to be displayed large and suppressing an occurrence of unnecessary period, there is provided a display driving method for driving a display with a plurality of scanning wirings and a plurality of modulation wirings, comprising: a step of supplying a scan selection signal to a scanning wiring selected out of the plural scanning wirings for each horizontal scanning period; and a step of supplying a modulation signal modulated in accordance with image data to the plural modulation wirings for each horizontal scanning period, in which the selection period of the scan selection signal varies between at least two horizontal scanning periods in a vertical scanning period.

摘要： The present invention is to provide an image display apparatus capable of properly correcting or adjusting, with small-scale hardware, variations in drive conditions due to electric resistance of matrix wiring on a display panel. The image display apparatus includes an adjusted image data calculation unit 14 for calculating adjusted image data as image data that has been compensated for the influence of voltage drop caused by resistance of at least the row wiring and a scan unit. The image display apparatus also includes an amplitude adjustment unit having a function for adjusting the amplitude of adjusted image data Dout, and a modulator 8 the takes in the adjusted image data with the amplitude adjusted and outputs a modulation signal to the column wiring.

摘要： The invention provides an image display apparatus and an image display method of excellent image quality, by correcting the voltage drop resulting from the electrical resistance of the wirings with a simple configuration.There are provided adjustment data calculation means for calculating, for input image data, adjustment data for correcting the influence of the voltage drop resulting from the electrical resistance of the row wirings and gray scale number converting means for converting the number of gradation levels of the adjustment data. Modulation means outputs a signal modulated in the voltage amplitude to each column wiring, based on the adjustment data outputted by and subjected to the conversion of gradation levels by the gray scale number converting means.

摘要： Provided are image display apparatus and image display methods capable of suitably making correction for variation of driving conditions due to an electric resistance of matrix wiring of a display panel by downsized hardware. The apparatus and methods involve a device of calculating voltage drop amounts caused by the resistance of row wires, for input image data, and a device of calculating image data with correction for the voltage drop amounts (corrected image data). An overflow processing circuit is provided so as to prevent overflow of the image data after the correction from an input range of a modulator, and the overflow is prevented by a gain. Since a gradation converter for changing a gradation conversion characteristic by a gain is provided in the stage preceding to the configuration for making the correction for influence of the voltage drop, it becomes feasible to cancel saturation characteristics of phosphors and to display images with high quality thereby.

摘要： An image data processing circuit includes a first circuit for calculating an average picture level value of the image data, a multiplier for multiplying a coefficient by the image data, a second circuit for calculating a first coefficient for the multiplier based upon the average picture level value, and a third circuit for calculating a second coefficient for the multiplier. The second coefficient is calculated so that the result of multiplying (1) image data having a value over an input range of a circuit to which data from the multiplier is inputted, and (2) the second coefficient falls in the input range. In addition, a selection circuit selects the coefficient to be used in the multiplier from the first coefficient calculated by the second circuit and the second coefficient calculated by the third circuit.
