The guiding device includes: a roller guide frame; and at least one roller rotatably mounted to the roller guide frame, the roller being configured to roll on an elevator guide rail when the elevator car is moving; wherein the guiding device further includes a braking device which inhibits the rotation of the roller when activated. The device according to the embodiment of the present disclosure has a simple and compact structure.
