    摘要: The present invention provides diagnostic and prognostic methods for predicting the effectiveness of treatment of a cancer patient with inhibitors of EGFR kinase, PDGFR kinase, or FGFR kinase. Based on the surprising discovery that tumors cells after having undergone an EMT, while being mesenchymal-like, still express characteristics of both epithelial and mesenchymal cells, and that such cells have altered sensitivity to inhibition by receptor protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitors, in that they have become relatively insensitive to EGFR kinase inhibitors, but have frequently acquired sensitivity to inhibitors of other receptor protein-tyrosine kinases such as PDGFR or FGFR, methods have been devised for determining levels of specific epithelial and mesenchymal biomarkers that identify such “hybrid” tumor cells (e.g. determination of co-expression of vimentin and epithelial keratins), and thus predict the tumor's likely sensitivity to inhibitors of EGFR kinase, PDGFR kinase, or FGFR kinase. Improved methods for treating cancer patients with EGFR, PDGFR or FGFR kinase inhibitors that incorporate such methodology are also provided.

The present invention is directed to a method of producing monoclonal antibodies that are highly specific for epitopes of Campylobacter jejuni outer membrane proteins; to specific monoclonal antibodies made by using the epitopes; and to uses thereof. The invention is drawn further to immunogens comprising certain outer membrane proteins or portions thereof from C. jejuni.

    摘要: An automated intelligent surveillance system comprises one or more fixed reference cameras to spatially map and observe a panoramic field of view, together with a movable narrow-field high resolution camera which is controlled in pan tilt & zoom, and a computing device. The computing device is capable of analysing the reference images received from anywhere within the panoramic field of view, and identifying the presence of specific types of object or specific behaviours of objects. The computing device uses the outcome of this analysis to direct the movable camera to the appropriate area of the spatial map to cause it to zoom in to gather close-up images of one or more of the selected objects or events of interest. These images are recorded synchronously with the related wide angle reference images, in a high speed random access store within the computing device. The parameters defining an object or event as being of interest may be pre-set, user selected, or adaptively learned by the computing device.
