Abstract: There is disclosed a mutant, non-naturally occurring or transgenic Nicotiana plant leaf, part of the plant leaf and/or stem having reduced expression or activity of methyl putrescine oxidase (MPO)-S and MPO-T, wherein the MPO-S comprises, consists or consists essentially of: (i) a polynucleotide sequence comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of a sequence having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 1; or (ii) a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide set forth in (i); or (iii) a polypeptide having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 2; and wherein the MPO-T comprises, consists or consists essentially of: (iv) a polynucleotide sequence comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of a sequence having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3; or (v) a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide set forth in (iv); or (vi) a polypeptide having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 4; and wherein the expression or activity of the MPO-S set forth in (i), (ii) or (iii), and the MPO-T set forth in (iv), (v) or (vi) are reduced as compared to a control plant.

Abstract: A non-naturally occurring or transgenic Nicotiana tabacum plant cell encompassing a heterologous polynucleotide that encodes arginine decarboxylase (ADC) and a method for producing such a cell are provided. Transgenic Nicotiana tabacum plants, plant parts, and plant tissues including these cells and plant materials and biomass produced by these cells and plants cells forming such a plant are provided. Materials produced by this plant, including plant leaves, flowers, seeds, extracts, and other plant biomass obtained from this plant including materials that have altered alkaloid levels are disclosed. Abstract: An aerosol-generating substrate for a heated aerosol-generating article is provided, the aerosol-generating substrate including: homogenised tobacco material, the homogenised tobacco material including dried green tobacco material, an aerosol former, and a binder, the homogenised tobacco material having an aerosol former content of between 5 percent and 55 percent by weight on a dry weight basis.
