    Abstract: There is disclosed a mutant, non-naturally occurring or transgenic Nicotiana plant leaf, part of the plant leaf and/or stem having reduced expression or activity of methyl putrescine oxidase (MPO)-S and MPO-T, wherein the MPO-S comprises, consists or consists essentially of: (i) a polynucleotide sequence comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of a sequence having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 1; or (ii) a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide set forth in (i); or (iii) a polypeptide having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 2; and wherein the MPO-T comprises, consists or consists essentially of: (iv) a polynucleotide sequence comprising, consisting or consisting essentially of a sequence having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 3; or (v) a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide set forth in (iv); or (vi) a polypeptide having at least 75% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 4; and wherein the expression or activity of the MPO-S set forth in (i), (ii) or (iii), and the MPO-T set forth in (iv), (v) or (vi) are reduced as compared to a control plant.
