Abstract: Process and apparatus for the production of carbon black by the pyrolytic decomposition of a hydrocarbon feed wherein the hydrocarbon feed is dispersed by impingement on a screen spaced apart from the feed nozzle in an oxygen-containing gas and the resulting mixture commingled with hot combustion gases whereby the hydrocarbon feed is pyrolytically decomposed to carbon black.
