Abstract:
Highly efficient diffusing light polarizes of a new type are described. The new diffusing light polarizes comprise an oriented suspension of doubly refracting, i.e., birefringent, crystallites of an organic high polymer within an amorphous, noncrystalline, substantially uniaxial, birefringent film of said polymer. These diffusing light polarizes transmit of specular beam and a diffuse beam polarized in the same plane.
Abstract:
THIS DISCLOSURE CONCERNS A PROCESS FOR PRESS-FORMING LENTICULAR OR PRISMATIC CONFIGURATIONS IN ONE SIDE OF A SHEET OF DIMENSIONALLY STABLE MATERIAL, SUCH AS A POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE COMPOSITION OF THE TYPE COMMONLY
KNOWN AS MYLAR, AND THE IMPROVED OPTICAL DEVICE PRODUCED THEREBY.
Abstract:
A diagnostic test device comprising an absorbent medium and a reaction zone located between superposed sheets. The fluid containing the substance to be analyzed is placed on the absorbent medium. Compressive force is applied to the absorbent medium providing a predetermined quantity of fluid to the reaction zone where reagents are located to react with the substance to provide a colorimetric determination of the presence and/or concentration of the substance.
Abstract:
A diagnostic test device which includes a cavity adapted to receive a fluid containing a substance to be tested, reagents adapted to contact said fluid and react with said substance to form a second substance capable of providing a visual determination of the presence and/or concentration of said first substance. In a preferred embodiment, chromatographic methods are employed to provide visual indication of the second substance.
