Abstract:
Disclosed are motion effect generation apparatuses and a computer-readable recording medium for program codes for implementing the motion effect generation apparatuses. The apparatus for generating a motion effect may comprise a segment generation part configured to divide a moving path of a camera or an object obtained from raw motion information into a plurality of segments; a scaling part configured to adjust a size of each of the plurality of segments according to a driving range of a motion apparatus; and a merging part configured to generate a motion path of the motion apparatus by merging the plurality of segments sizes of which are adjusted. Therefore, time and costs for producing 4D movies to which motion effects are applied can be reduced. In addition, they can be easily applied to 4D movie theaters, 4D rides, home theater equipment, and home game machines.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for generating a haptic signal with auditory saliency estimation from an audio signal is disclosed. The method includes detecting audio characteristic information of a bass component and audio characteristic information of a treble component from a received audio signal, estimating auditory saliency with respect to the audio signal based on the two types of audio characteristic information, and calculating a tactile signal based on the auditory saliency.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and method for providing a virtual texture. The apparatus and method for providing a virtual texture includes a signal generator, a signal adjuster, and a signal output part to generate composite tactile signal including a virtual vibrotactile signal and a virtual force-feedback signal so that a virtual texture of a target object may be reproduced in a virtual reality.
Abstract:
Disclosed are apparatuses and methods for generating motion effects in real time by analyzing motions of interest objects in a video. The motion effect generation apparatus may comprise an extraction part extracting motions between sequential frames by calculating relations of respective pixels of the sequential frames in a video signal; a clustering part generating clusters of similar motions by grouping the motions; a computation part calculating a representative motion of each of the clusters; and a selection part selecting a cluster suitable for generating a motion effect from the clusters by comparing the representative motions of the clusters, and output the representative motion of the cluster selected by the selection part as the motion effect or motion information for the motion effect.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for providing a motion haptic effect using video analysis. The apparatus includes a camera viewpoint classifier configured to analyze the camera viewpoint of an input video and classify the input video as a first-person viewpoint video or a third-person viewpoint video, a first-person viewpoint video processor configured to estimate a camera egomotion for the first-person viewpoint video, and a third-person viewpoint video processor configured to estimate a global motion of a target object for tracking included in the third-person viewpoint video. Accordingly, it is possible to effectively generate multimedia content capable of providing a motion haptic effect.
