Abstract: A method for recovering valuable metals from waste batteries according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: an impurity removal process for removing impurities comprising Cu from a waste battery raw material and discharging an aqueous phase comprising Ni and Co; and a Co extraction process to extract Co from the aqueous phase comprising Ni and Co and discharge an aqueous phase comprising Ni, wherein the impurity removal process may be carried out by mixing a dialkylphosphoric acid-based solvent extractant with another solvent extractant having a synergistic effect to increase the separation factor of Co and Cu.
