Abstract: A battery of the present disclosure includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a solid electrolyte layer. The solid electrolyte layer is positioned between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The solid electrolyte layer includes a solid electrolyte having lithium-ion conductivity. The negative electrode includes: a negative electrode current collector; and a negative electrode active material layer positioned between the negative electrode current collector and the solid electrolyte layer. The negative electrode active material layer has a plurality of columnar particles and is substantially free of an electrolyte. The columnar particles include silicon as a main component.

Abstract: A flow battery according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes: a first liquid containing dissolved therein a charge mediator and a discharge mediator; a first electrode immersed in the first liquid; and a first active material immersed in the first liquid. The equilibrium potential of the charge mediator is lower than the equilibrium potential of the first active material, and the equilibrium potential of the discharge mediator is higher than the equilibrium potential of the first active material.

Abstract: A battery of the present disclosure includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode including graphite and zinc, and a solid electrolyte layer positioned between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. A ratio of a mass of zinc to a sum of a mass of graphite and the mass of zinc in the negative electrode is 10 mass % or more and 60 mass % or less. The above ratio may be 20 mass % or more and 40 mass % or less.
