Abstract:
A test system for measuring analyte concentration in a fluid sample includes: (i) a capillary-fill biosensor (20) having a working electrode (24), a reference electrode (22) and a separate counter electrode (23), arranged such that a fluid sample which flows evenly along the capillary flow path will substantially completely cover the reference electrode (22) before the fluid sample makes contact with any part of the counter electrode (23); and (ii) a test meter (42) for receiving the biosensor (20), the meter (42) including: first signal circuitry (31) for producing a first signal when an electrical circuit is detected between the reference electrode (22) and the working electrode (24); second signal circuitry (33) for producing a second signal when an electrical circuit is detected between the counter electrode (23) and at least one of the reference electrode (22) and the working electrode (24); a timer (35) for determining the time interval between production of said first signal and said second signal; and a processor (32) for triggering an error condition if said time interval exceeds a preset value or if said second signal is not produced within a preset time after said first signal is produced.
Abstract:
System, apparatus, method, and article for techniques to associate media data with related information. A mobile computing device includes a media manager module. The media manager module processes a media file including metadata. The media manager module retrieves a first content from a metadata field in the metadata. The media manager module retrieves a second content from a field in an application file associated with an application client. The media manager module compares the first and second contents and determines whether the first and second contents are associated. If the first and second contents are associated, the media manager module retrieves the second content and inserts the second content in a second metadata field of the media file.
Abstract:
A device having alternative intercommunication formats, and an automated method of selecting the appropriate format to use, in dependence upon the ability of the device to which it is interconnected to utilize this format. Many devices utilize standard analog formats, such as NTSC, PAL, SECAM, and others, to communicate with other devices; many of these devices utilize digital formats, such as MPEG and others, for internal processing or storage. By appending a supplemental signal to the analog signal, the ability of the device to use a digital format can be communicated to the device to which it is interconnected. By communicating their capabilities, devices which have the ability to utilize the same digital format can automatically switch to this digital format for intercommunication, thereby avoiding the signal degradations typically associated with conversions to and from an analog form.

Abstract:
A device may process images (e.g. sort, group, file, e-mail, etc.) using various filters. The filters may relate to non-image data in the image files to be processed. The filters may include time and location filters.
Abstract:
The present invention involves a network polling protocol which treats the network as a logical ring or linear sequence of nodes linked together so that a polling request is simply propagated down or around the network one node at a time until a complete inventory of active nodes is achieved. The protocols also includes procedures for curing or repairing breaks in the linking protocol and for adding new nodes to the linking protocol. The linking protocol can also be used to establish hierarchal linked networks where top level hierarchies includes addresses to a permanent member of a linked network and bottom level hierarchies are a given linked network.
Abstract:
A macro is created for a system that controls multiple electronic devices. Stimuli are supplied to the devices to trigger the desired responses. The responses are recorded. The macro contains a sequence of instructions. Each particular instruction requests the device involved to re-establish its particular state that caused it to provide a particular response.
