摘要: A method and apparatus for transurethral resection of the prostate, which includes inserting a transurethral incisional device through the patient's urethra, incising off at least one piece of targeted prostatic tissue using the incisional device, inserting a morcellation probe through the patient's urethra, morcellating the excised piece of targeted prostatic tissue with the morcellation probe, and aspirating the morcellated prostatic tissue through the morcellation probe and out of the patient.The morcellation probe of the present invention includes an elongated inner probe tube that defines an aspiration channel therein. The inner probe tube is slidably disposed inside an outer probe tube. The outer probe tube has a first aperture with a first cutting edge for cutting tissue. The inner probe tube has a second aperture or a spiral shaped groove defining a second cutting edge that moves relative to the first cutting edge to cut tissue drawn through the first aperture. The second aperture or groove are in communication with the aspiration channel. A tissue manipulation port can be formed in either the outer or inner probe tubes to overlap with the inner or outer probe tube apertures or the groove to provide continuous aspiration adjacent the first aperture if/when the first aperture is sealed by the inner probe tube.

摘要: A method and apparatus for transurethral resection of the prostate, which includes inserting a transurethral incisional device through the patient's urethra, incising off at least one piece of targeted prostatic tissue using the incisional device, inserting a morcellation probe through the patient's urethra, morcellating the excised piece of targeted prostatic tissue with the morcellation probe, and aspirating the morcellated prostatic tissue through the morcellation probe and out of the patient. The morcellation probe of the present invention includes an elongated inner probe tube that defines an aspiration channel therein and an aperture with opposing cutting edges formed adjacent to its distal end. The inner probe tube is slidably disposed inside an outer probe tube, and moves relative thereto in a longitudinal reciprocating manner. The outer probe tube has an open distal end and another aperture with opposing cutting edges. During each reciprocating movement cycle, the apertures pass each other twice, and the inner probe tube aperture passes beyond the outer probe tube's open distal end once, where two cutting actions occur between the apertures' cutting edges when they pass each other, and a third cutting action occurs when a cutting edge of the inner probe tube aperture passes the outer probe tube's distal end. Target tissue that is cut by the cutting actions is then aspirated out of the patient's body through the aspiration channel.

摘要: A syringe for performing a medical procedure includes a pressure sensor, a volume sensor, and a compensation circuit. The volume sensor measures a volume of a flowable material that is dispensed from the syringe, the pressure sensor measures a pressure being applied to the flowable material, and the compensation circuit calculates a delivered volume of the flowable material by accounting for system compliance (expansion) as the pressure is increased. By compensating for system compliance in this manner, a syringe can be used in high pressure procedures while still providing accurately controllable material delivery.

The systems and methods support associating multiple SCSI routing components in a storage router with multiple VLANs. 摘要: A syringe for performing a medical procedure includes a pressure sensor, a volume sensor, and a compensation circuit. The volume sensor measures a volume of a flowable material that is dispensed from the syringe, the pressure sensor measures a pressure being applied to the flowable material, and the compensation circuit calculates a delivered volume of the flowable material by accounting for system compliance (expansion) as the pressure is increased. 摘要: A sealed bearing arrangement for a Cardan type universal joint comprises a bearing cup and a seal assembly which has an elastomeric body and a metal washer of U-shaped cross section. The elastomeric body has an inner flexible, annular seal lip which engages an inside cylindrical surface of the bearing cup and an outer seal bead and an outer flexible, annular seal lip which engage outside surfaces of the bearing cup. The sealed bearing arrangement includes a hardened steel washer inside the bearing cup which is engaged by an end of the metal washer of the seal assembly to protect the inner flexible, annular seal lip against damage or interference by needle bearing rollers inside the bearing cup.
