A receiver for terrestrial AM-HF-TV signals and satellite FM-HF-TV signals in first and second frequency ranges, respectively, of mutually predominantly equal widths, which succeed each other in frequency, includes, arranged one after the other, a HF-AM-FM section, a mixing circuit common for the AM and FM-TV signals and an IF device, oscillator mixing signals being applied from a tuning oscillator to that mixing circuit for a frequency conversion of the AM and FM-HF-TV signals into a first AM and an FM intermediate frequency signal, respectively, having a first AM and an FM intermediate frequency, of which at least the first AM intermediate frequency is located above the first frequency region. In order to enable a simple and cheap realization, in which a tuning oscillator having a comparatively narrow-band tuning range can be used, the first AM intermediate frequency is of the order of magnitude of twice the highest frequency of the first frequency range and the FM intermediate frequency is of the order of magnitude of one-half the lowest frequency of the second frequency range, the IF-device including an AM and a FM-IF section whose inputs are coupled to an output of the mixing circuit for a separate selection and processing of the first AM and the FM-intermediate frequency signals, respectively.

A transceiver allowing transmission of a co-polar transmit signal and simultaneous reception of co-polar receive and cross-polar receive signals. An integrated orthogonal mode transducer and diplexer module containing a plurality of filters between a feed port, co-polar transmission port, co-polar reception port and cross-polar reception port is mounted within the transceiver housing with the feed port aligned with or forming the feed flange of the transceiver. A transmitter printed circuit board is aligned with the transmission waveguide port and a receiver printed circuit board is aligned with the co-polar reception and cross-polar reception ports of the integrated orthomode transducer and diplexer module.

A satellite communications interoperability module and method for frequency down-conversion. The module insertable in-line with an intra-facility link communicating a multiplexed signal between the outdoor unit (ODU) and the indoor unit (IDU). Electrical circuitry of the module transforming and forwarding the multiplexed signal over the intra-facility link, the multiplexed signal including at least direct current, a standard tone, and L-band data signals. Switching means of the module specifies operations performed by the electrical circuitry to transform the multiplexed signal frequencies, waveforms and voltages according to predetermined parameters compatible between the ODU and the IDU. An interoperability method for compatibility with a range of different indoor units applied by the interoperability module and or incorporated into an integral ODU is application of a second frequency shift upon the L-band signal output from the ODU primary down-conversion circuit.
