摘要: An arrangement for connecting an additional antenna to a portable radio device (RD) having an internal planar antenna. Energy for the additional antenna is taken from the near field of the planar antenna, the coupling elements being provided by conductors (311, 312) located outside the covering of the radio device and following the conductive branches (B1, B2) of the radiating plane (RPL) of the planar antenna. The arrangement further comprises a conductive plate (320) located in front of and parallel to the ground plane (GND) in the radio device to take energy from the field of the ground plane. The inner conductor of the cable (330) for the additional antenna is galvanically connected to the conductors placed over the planar antenna, and the sheath is galvanically connected to the conductive plate (320) near the connection point of the inner conductor.

摘要: An adjustable monopole antenna especially intended for the mobile terminals. The adjusting circuit (930) of the antenna is located between the radiator (920) and the antenna port of a radio device and forms, together with the antenna feed conductor (901), a feed circuit. This circuit comprises an adjustable reactance between the feed conductor and the ground in series with the feed conductor or in both of those places. For example, the feed conductor can be connected by a multi-way switch to one of alternative transmission lines, which are typically short-circuited or open at their tail end and shorter than the quarter wave, each line acting for a certain reactance. The antenna operating band covers at a time only a part of the frequency range used by one or two radio systems, in which case the antenna matching is easier to arrange than of a real broadband antenna. The space required for both the radiator and the adjusting circuit is relatively small. There is no need to arrange a coupling to the radiator for the antenna adjusting, which means a simpler antenna structure and thus savings in production costs.

The antenna (200) comprises a planar radiator (220) with a branch (221) for forming a lower operating band for the antenna and a second branch (222) for forming an upper operating band. The branches typically form a frame-like pattern. There remains a slot (230) between the branches, opening to the outer edge of the radiator approximately in the middle of the edge running in the direction of the end of the circuit board (205) and being outside the circuit board as seen from above. The omnidirectional radiation of the antenna on its upper operating band improves as compared to the corresponding, known antennas, and its efficiency improves, because the average antenna gain increases.

摘要: An antenna intended to be used in a small-sized and flat radio device, and to a radio device which has an antenna according to the invention. The base element of the antenna is a monopole-type conductor (110) internal to the device. This conductor may be designed such that the harmonic nearest to the fundamental resonating frequency can be utilized in providing an upper operating band. In addition to the base element the antenna structure comprises a parasitic element (120) which functions as both an auxiliary radiator and antenna matching element. Matching is optimized using an inductive component (125) which connects the parasitic element to signal ground. The antenna gain achieved is considerably higher than that of known antenna structures occupying the same space (h), and the antenna matching is improved, compared to known internal monopole antennas.

摘要: An adjustable monopole antenna especially intended for the mobile terminals. The adjusting circuit (930) of the antenna is located between the radiator (920) and the antenna port of a radio device and forms, together with the antenna feed conductor (901), a feed circuit. This circuit comprises an adjustable reactance between the feed conductor and the ground in series with the feed conductor or in both of those places. For example, the feed conductor can be connected by a multi-way switch to one of alternative transmission lines, which are typically short-circuited or open at their tail end and shorter than the quarter wave, each line acting for a certain reactance. The antenna operating band covers at a time only a part of the frequency range used by one or two radio systems, in which case the antenna matching is easier to arrange than of a real broadband antenna. 摘要: A small and foldable radio device antenna and a radio device which has an antenna according to an embodiment of the invention. The radiating element in the antenna is a conductor having an outline shaped substantially like a rectangle and defining a plane which is perpendicular to the ground plane situated on the circuit board of the radio device. The radiating element fits inside the foldable device in the perpendicular position. The element is connected to the radio device only by its feed point. Resonating frequencies of the element can be arranged by shaping the element, and by means of discrete components. The matching of the antenna is arranged by providing an appropriate distance between the radiating element and ground plane. In an operating situation, an antenna gain is achieved which is considerably higher than that of a PIFA of equal height.

摘要: The invention relates in one aspect to antenna useful with for example a flat a radio device. In one embodiment, the antenna comprises and internal monopole antenna that has an arrangement for improving its characteristics, including a planar monopole radiator and an auxiliary element. The auxiliary element can be a mere conductor strip, or a ceramic plate partly coated with a conductor for example. The conductor of the auxiliary element is connected to the ground at a point (SP), which is relatively close to the feed point (FP) of the planar element. The planar element can be shaped to form two operating bands for the antenna. The auxiliary element can be used to increase the bandwidth of the internal monopole antenna and/or to improve the omnidirectional radiation of the antenna.

摘要: An arrangement designed for radio phones for integrating a mechanical structure of the antenna head of the phone. The mechanical structures of an antenna and a speaker of the radio phone are integrated so that a given planar component radiates both radio waves and sound waves. The radiator component (310) comprises a layer (315, 316) of a material, a shape of which can be controlled by means of a voltage. The sound waves, i.e. fluctuation of the air pressure are thus generated by causing the thickness or position of the layer to fluctuate according to the control voltage. The antenna head of the radio phone becomes more compact than in the prior art, and it takes up less space because the antenna and the speaker utilize same structural elements.
