摘要： Apparatus for securing an elastic band in a hem tunnel formed of garment fabric comprises a fabric folding device having an entry zone and an exit zone both of which are planar, the entry zone being inclined at an angle, conveniently between 30.degree. and 90.degree., preferably 45.degree., relative to the exit zone. A guide roller by which a band is guided to the entry zone is rotatable about an axis parallel with the entry zone and at right angles to the direction of feed of the band and fabric through the device. The apparatus facilitates the incorporation of draw-cord elastic into garment hem tunnels.

摘要： A draw-cord assembly comprises a draw-out which is extensible from a retracted condition to an extended condition and restraining means, secured in the cord. The cord and restraining means are such that the cord is retained in its retracted condition by the restraining means until the means is rendered ineffective, whereupon the cord is permanently extended from its retracted condition. The restraining means retain the cord in its retracted condition provided that the lengthwise load exceeding a certain minimum load is not exceeded, but extended by application of a greater load.

摘要： A feeding device for feeding elastic strip material to a sewing machine feeding a strip in response to one or more control signals. The strip feeder uses a feed roller having an associated pressure roller to provide a feed nip with the feeding roller, a sensor directly senses the rate of feed of the strip and generates one or more sensing signals. The sensor uses a signal generator which is a rotary pulse generator, or a photoelectric device for detecting marks on the strip. A controller receives the sensing signals and generates control signals for controlling the rate of feed of the strip.
