    摘要: A delayed-action thermal relay, particularly for starting single-phase induction motors, comprises a case of insulating material, a first, a second, and a third terminal within the case, an actuator unit consisting of a heating element of a material with positive temperature coefficient and of a bimetal member, and first and second contacts that are normally closed carried by the bimetal and by the third terminal respectively, said actuator unit being forcibly and adjustably inserted between the first and second terminals.

    摘要: A thermostat equipped with a bimetallic element sensitive to a given temperature comprises a monolithic base open at one end in which two terminals connectable to an electric circuit are inserted and precisely located, each having one end bent at a right angle and each carrying a stationary contact, an element carrying movable contacts for connecting the stationary contacts with one another, a spring housed in a seat on said base biasing the movable contact element to engage the stationary contacts, a sliding element for moving and guiding said movable contact-carrying element, a bimetallic element suitably spaced from the said sliding element for initiating movement of the sliding element in response to temperature change, and a lid which fastens the said bimetallic element to the said base with said spacing from the sliding element.

    摘要: A motor starting relay particularly adapted for use in starting single phase asynchronous motors comprises a resistor element of positive temperature coefficient of resistivity which is compactly arranged within a housing and engaged by electrical contact and terminals means of particular structure and of a material of relatively high thermal resistance in a novel way such that power dissipation or loss by the resistor is reduced to a very low level after it has performed its motor starting function but so that, at the same time, the resistor is adapted to cool more rapidly after interruption of motor operation to permit prompt motor restarting.

For this purpose, the magnetic members of the relay are incorporated in the electrical relay circuit and are provided with attachments for plug-on connections of the relay to circuit pins of motor-compressor units.

    摘要: A thermostat has a cup-shaped insulating base open at one end, a pair of terminals ultrasonically secured in the bottom of the base precisely locating respective stationary contacts within the base and having portions thereof extending outside the base, a flat metal element carrying movable contacts for engaging the stationary contacts, a flat metal motion transfer element secured to the movable contact element and having an extending portion precisely located adjacent the open end of the cup-shaped base, a spring mounted in the base biasing the movable contact element to engage and interconnect the stationary contacts, a dished thermostat metal element disposed in the open end of the base and movable with snap action in response to selected temperature change to engage and move the extending portion of the motion transfer element to move the movable contact element against the spring bias to disengage the stationary contacts, a thin electrically insulating film disposed over the thermostat metal element, and a lid secured over the open end of the base mounting the thermostat metal element in the open base end, the motion transfer element having a slit therein permitting compression of the extending portion thereof to adjust its spacing from the thermostat element for calibrating the thermostat.

    摘要: A thermal protective device for semiconductor devices and the like comprises a housing of electrically insulative plastic material made in cup form having at the open end a seat for lodging a bimetallic disc and means for applying the cup to the semiconductor device with the bimetallic disc in direct heat exchange relation therewith. One or more electric terminals is incorporated in the housing at the time of molding and is connected in power supply circuits of the semiconductor device and/or alarm and signaling circuits. The bimetallic disc acts on said electric terminals so as to interrupt or modify the power supply to the semiconductor device or to actuate an alarm signal.

    摘要: Delayed release locking control device, particularly for doors of washing machines and the like, containing inside a case a self-regulating resistive wafer heater of a material having a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of resistance, a snap-acting bimetallic element connected to a latch or locking member, and terminals which carry electrical current to the PTC wafer heater, wherein the bimetallic element is arranged so means transform the linear snap like movement of an end of the bimetallic element into a rotary movement of the latch mounted on the case to cause it to rotate 90.degree. from a resting position into an operating position when the bimetallic element, selectively heated by the said PTC wafer, abruptly reverses its curvature upon reaching the actuating temperature of reversal and to cause the said latch to return to the resting position when the bimetallic element cools down again to below a reset temperature of reversal and snaps back to its normal curvature.
