Abstract: A hydraulic drive system for a construction material pump has a hydraulic circuit for hydraulic fluid, a feed pump which is designed to feed hydraulic fluid into the hydraulic circuit, at least one controllable pressure-limiting valve unit, which is designed for variable adjustment of a limit pressure of hydraulic fluid of at least one portion of the hydraulic circuit within a pressure range, and a control unit. The control unit is designed to control the pressure-limiting valve unit according to at least one operating parameter of the hydraulic drive system and/or according to the hydraulic fluid in such a way that the pressure-limiting valve unit adjusts the limit pressure of the portion of the hydraulic circuit.

Abstract: An apparatus for conveying thick matter has a drive cylinder for receiving hydraulic fluid, a drive piston, which is arranged in the drive cylinder, a conveying cylinder for receiving thick matter, a conveying piston, which is arranged in the conveying cylinder, and a piston rod, which is fastened to the drive piston for coupling motion together with the conveying piston. The drive cylinder has a rod-side opening for applying pressure to a rod side of the drive piston by way of hydraulic fluid and a crown-side opening for applying pressure to a crown side of the drive piston facing away from the rod side by the hydraulic fluid. A drive pump is designed to generate a drive volume flow having a drive pressure of hydraulic fluid for moving the drive piston. A pump connection is designed for variable connection of the drive pump to the rod-side opening or the crown-side opening for the flow of hydraulic fluid. A sensor is designed for automatic detection of whether the pump connection is connected to the rod-side opening or the crown-side opening. A control unit controls the apparatus in a rod-side operating mode, when the rod-side pump connection is detected, and in a crown-side operating mode, when the crown-side pump connection is detected.

The method includes: conveying construction material and/or viscous material, by movement of the conveying piston in order to draw in and displace construction material and/or viscous material; sensing a position variable during the movement, the position variable characterizing a position of the conveying piston along its stroke in the conveying cylinder; sensing a conveying variable during the movement, the conveying variable being of a different type than the position variable and characterizing the conveying of construction material and/or viscous material by the pump; and determining a profile of a subsequent movement of the conveying piston by linking the sensed position variable and the sensed conveying variable to each other; and controlling the subsequent movement in accordance with the determined profile.

The method determines a speed of the first drive piston, establishes a difference between the determined speed of the first drive piston and an expected speed of the first drive piston, and determines a faulty state as a function of the difference established between the determined speed of the first drive piston and the expected speed of the first drive piston.

Abstract: A vehicle having a thick matter pump has multiple supporting devices, a rotatable mast assembly with part-mast members, and a hydraulic drive assembly with hydraulic drives for the supporting devices and the mast assembly. A valve assembly is provided for the hydraulic drive assembly. The valve assembly has a group of proportional valves and a group of switching valve devices which are each connected to at least one hydraulic drive of the supporting devices or the part-mast members. The switching valve devices are connected downstream of the proportional valves. Exactly one switching valve device is supplied by exactly one proportional valve and is connected downstream of exactly one proportional valve such that outputs of the proportional valves lead exclusively to inputs of the switching valve devices.
