Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless communication device may iterate a value of a channel access counter (CAC) to a trigger value based at least in part on configuring the value of the CAC. In some aspects, the first wireless communication device may utilize a channel access mechanism to select a set of time-frequency resources for a transmission of a packet based at least in part on iterating the value of the CAC to the trigger value. In some aspects, the first wireless communication device may transmit the packet to a second wireless communication device via the set of time-frequency resources based at least in part on utilizing the channel access mechanism to select the set of time-frequency resources for the transmission. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., sidelink systems, such as vehicle-to-everything (V2X) systems), wireless devices may perform dynamic resource reservations to schedule packet transmissions (e.g., data packet transmissions). Different packets may correspond to different priority levels. To support flexible resource reservation for high priority packets, wireless devices may implement techniques for preempting lower priority reservations. For example, a wireless device may identify reservations for transmitting different packets during a same transmission time interval (TTI). The device may determine whether a first or second packet has a higher relative priority and may communicate in the V2X system during the TTI according to the relative priorities. For example, a device that reserved the TTI for the lower priority packet may refrain from transmitting the packet during the TTI, while a device that reserved the TTI for the higher priority packet may transmit the packet.

Abstract: An apparatus may comprise a component for communicating using a first RAT and another component for communicating using a second RAT. Overlapping communication using the two RATs may cause problems for proper reception at the apparatus. The apparatus may detect that transmission or reception of a first packet using a first RAT will overlap in time with reception of a second packet using a second RAT. The apparatus prioritizes the first packet or the second packet based at least on a relative priority of the first packet and the second packet.

Abstract: Using a modulation and coding scheme for a control channel that is more conservative than needed to fulfill the control function may waste resources. To address this issue, a variable size control channel is provided. An apparatus in such a system may be configured to determine an aggregation level of a plurality of aggregation levels associated with a control channel. Each aggregation level of the plurality of aggregation levels is associated with a number of time-frequency resources dedicated for the control channel and a particular modulation and coding scheme used for modulating and coding control information in the control channel. The apparatus is configured to receive control information in the time-frequency resources associated with the aggregation level and decode the control information received in the time-frequency resources associated with the determined aggregation level. The decoding is based on the particular modulation and coding scheme associated with the determined aggregation level.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure propose a mechanism whereby a nearby device may detect scenarios where one device is unable to receive communications from a transmitting device. For example, the nearby device may detect that concurrent transmissions of a transmitting device and intended recipient prevent reception by the intended recipient and provide feedback to the transmitting device. Rather than blindly retransmitting, the transmitting device may only retransmit when it receives feedback from the nearby device, saving power and avoiding unnecessary transmissions.
