Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for allocating resources for environment sensing. In an aspect, a base station transmits a first radar reference signal (RRS) on a first set of resources comprising first time resources, first frequency resources, first spatial resources, or any combination thereof, wherein the first set of resources is selected to enable a first user equipment (UE) to perform a first type of environment sensing, and transmits a second RRS on a second set of resources comprising second time resources, second frequency resources, second spatial resources, or any combination thereof, wherein the second set of resources is selected to enable a second UE to perform a second type of environment sensing, wherein the second set of resources is different from the first set of resources, and wherein the second type of environment sensing is different from the first type of environment sensing.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus obtain a signal from a remote wireless node. The apparatus may switch between a first mode and a second mode in response to the signal. The apparatus may sense the shared transmission medium and sense if an absence of traffic is detected. The apparatus may delay data transmission for a fixed time interval from detecting the absence of traffic. The apparatus may initiate the data transmission at the end of the fixed time interval if operating in the first mode or initiate the data transmission at the end of a random time interval following the fixed time interval if operation in the second mode.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for high efficiency (HE) basic service set (BSS) operations. In an implementation, a wireless station (STA) can identify a set including one or more modulation coding scheme (MCS) and number of spatial streams (NSS) tuples for HE communications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). The STA can determine whether the set is supported by a BSS and also determine that the STA is to attempt to join the BSS in response to a determination that the set is supported by the BSS. In another implementation, the STA can set a channel width capability for high throughout (HT) communications and very high throughput (VHT) communications in WLANs to be the same as a channel width capability for HE communications in WLANs, and can transmit information that indicates that the STA has the same channel width capability for HT, VHT, and HE communications in WLANs.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be an AP that requests a plurality of STAs to jointly enable and disable an MRP based on at least one of that each STA of the STAs has uplink traffic with the AP or that each STA of a subset of the STAs has a hidden node. The AP receives, from the STAs, information indicating a communication metric while jointly enabling or disabling the MRP. The AP determines, based on the received information indicating the communication metric, whether the joint enablement of the medium reserving procedure improves communication for the plurality of STAs. The AP requests the STAs to jointly enable the medium reserving procedure for subsequent communication when the joint enablement of the medium reserving procedure improves communication for the plurality of STAs.
