Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. Various aspects support beam switching and changing antenna array configurations for communicating in a near field range. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a beam group indicator to a network entity, and the UE and the network entity may perform beam switching operations associated with switch communication beams in association with changes to a distance between the UE and the network entity. In some such examples, the beam switching may switch from using beam weights for communications in a far field range to beam weights for communications in a near field range. Additionally or alternatively, the network entity may change configurations of an antenna array used to communicate with the UE in association with changes to the distance. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network node, a polarization performance loss indication that is indicative of a loss in polarization performance based on transitioning from a first operating state associated with a first frequency range to a second operating state associated with a second frequency range, wherein the first operating state corresponds to a first antenna configuration and the second operating state corresponds to a second antenna configuration, wherein the first antenna configuration corresponds to a first antenna orientation and the second antenna configuration corresponds to a second antenna orientation. The UE may receive, from the network node, configuration information indicative of at least one communication parameter associated with the at least one antenna array and based on the polarization performance loss indication. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support beam correlation across frequency bands for beam selection in the event of a frequency switch. For example, a base station may determine a configuration indicating a mapping between a set of beam identifiers (IDs) and a set of angle coverage ranges for a set of frequency ranges which corresponds to a user equipment's (UE) operating frequencies. In some examples, the UE may undergo a frequency switch and switch from a first operating frequency to a second operating frequency. The UE may select a beam ID based on the mapping and communicate with the base station via the second operating frequency using a beam associated with the selected beam ID.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to mitigation of calibration errors are provided. A base station (BS) transmits, via an antenna array including a plurality of antenna elements, a first communication signal using a first number of the plurality of antenna elements and a first transmission power level to a user equipment (UE). The BS receives from at least one UE, a measurement report based on the first communication signal. The BS transmitting a second communication signal using a second number of the plurality of antenna elements and a second transmission power level based on the one or more measurement reports. At least one of the first number of the plurality of antenna elements is different from the second number of the plurality of antenna elements, or the first transmission power level is different from the second transmission power level. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to dynamic antenna array reconfiguration and signaling in millimeter wave bands. A user equipment (UE) may detect an antenna array change condition. The UE may transmit a request for beam training for an antenna array configuration in response to the detecting. The request for beam training may include a requested antenna array configuration for the UE and an indication of beam weights to use with the requested antenna array configuration. A base station may determine whether to grant or deny the requested antenna array configuration for the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of an antenna array configuration for the UE. The base station may transmit the number of reference signals as a set of contiguous channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS). The UE may train the reconfigured active antenna array configuration based on the reference signals.
