Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for adaptively tuning a wireless data transmission system in an electronic device, including: generating a plurality of measurements of an element of the wireless data transmission system in the electronic device; generating a determined use case for the electronic device based on a use case determination model and the plurality of measurements; determining one or more antenna settings associated with the determined use case; tuning the wireless data transmission system based on the one or more antenna settings; and transmitting data via the wireless data transmission system using the one or more antenna settings.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for tuning a wireless data transmission system in an electronic device. One example method includes receiving a measured impedance value corresponding to a current user interaction state with respect to one or more antennas of a mobile device; determining a user interaction stability state of the mobile device based on the measured impedance value and a set of historical impedance values; classifying the current user interaction state based at least on the measured impedance value and a plurality of impedance values from the set of historical impedance values; and tuning the one or more antennas based on the classified current user interaction state and the determined user interaction stability state of the mobile device.

Abstract: An antenna tuning circuit achieves robust performance in a closed loop antenna tuning system due to the addition of protection circuits. In one instance, a protection circuit to detect an overload condition based on a threshold value may be included in the antenna tuning circuit. The antenna tuning circuit also includes a protection state register coupled to the protection circuit to store one or more safe states of operation to which the circuit is restored in response to detecting the overload condition. The antenna tuning circuit also includes a bus interface coupled to the protection state register to transmit an indication of a state of operation of the circuit to an external tuning control device coupled to the circuit and to receive pre-defined protection actions from the external tuning control device in response to the indication of the state of operation.

Impedance information for a wireless transmitter of a device is determined, and impedance change information is generated based on a difference between the impedance information and prior impedance information for the wireless transmitter. An off-body characteristic is generated based on processing the impedance change information using a trained machine learning model, where the off-body characteristic indicates a probability that the device was off-body when the impedance information was determined.
