Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for associating a user equipment (UE) with a relay in a wireless network are provided. The apparatus determines a relay backhaul link quality of a relay; determines a path loss from a UE to the relay; and compares the relay backhaul link quality to a direct link quality between the UE and a base station, and the path loss to a path loss threshold to determine whether to associate the UE with the relay.
Abstract:
A mobile device, such as a smartphone or a tablet computer, can execute functionality for configuring a network device in a communication network and for subsequently controlling the operation of the network device with little manual input. The mobile device can detect sensor information from a network device. The mobile device can determine device configuration information based, at least in part, on decoding the sensor information. The mobile device can provide the device configuration information to an access point of a network. The mobile device can receive communication link information from the access point. The mobile device can provide the communication link information to the network device. The mobile device can receive a message indicating a communication link between the network device and the access point is established.
Abstract:
A modulation and coding scheme (MCS) is selected for one or more transmissions from a first wireless device to a second wireless device, based at least in part on interference at the second wireless device during a time period. The interference excludes wireless signals present at the second wireless device at first times during the time period when the first wireless device is transmitting and at second times during the time period when the first wireless device detects transmissions.
Abstract:
Techniques for the management, configuration, and control of network coded communications in a wireless network are disclosed herein. In one approach, there is provided an example method operable by an evolved Node B (eNB) or the like. The method may involve grouping a plurality of user equipments (UEs) into a network coding group. The method may involve associating the plurality of UEs in the network coding group with a network coding group identifier. The method may involve sending a data transmission for select UEs in the network coding group using the network coding group identifier. The data transmission may include additional downlink control information related to one or more of the UEs in the network coding group.

Abstract:
A mobile device, such as a smartphone or a tablet computer, can execute functionality for configuring a network device in a communication network and for subsequently controlling the operation of the network device with little manual input. The mobile device can detect, from the network device, sensor information that is indicative of configuration information associated with the network device. The mobile device can decode the received sensor information to determine the configuration information and can accordingly enroll the network device in the communication network. In response to determining to control the enrolled network device, the mobile device can capture an image of the network device and can use the captured image to unambiguously identify the network device. The mobile device can establish a communication link with the network device and can transmit one or more commands to vary operating parameters of the network device.
