Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) operating in a narrowband communications system with a base station may identify a radio link failure (RLF) and then initiate a radio resource control (RRC) connection reestablishment procedure to reconnect with the base station. As part of the connection reestablishment procedure, the UE may transmit a reestablishment complete message to the base station to indicate the connection reestablishment procedure is successful and include a measurement report related to downlink signals received from the base station in the reestablishment complete message. In some cases, the measurement report may include an indication of downlink signal strength and downlink signal quality. As such, the UE may transmit the measurement report in a single RRC message after identifying the RLF. Based on the measurement report, the base station may then perform network planning.

Abstract: An enhanced Public Warning System (PWS) is provided. A User Equipment (UE) transmits a first indication of UE capability for performing a first set of UE actions. The UE receives based on the first indication, a second indication of a second set of UE actions the UE is to perform in response to receiving a warning message, the warning message including an identifier of a warning type associated with the second set of UE actions. The UE receives the warning message including the identifier of the warning type. The UE performs at least one of the second set of UE actions in response to receiving the warning message.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support enhanced power saving mode (PSM) for an active time duration of a PSM with extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) configuration in a wireless communication system. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) is configured to enter a deep sleep mode during inactive times of a PSM, and to operate in eDRX mode during the active times of the PSM. Operating in eDRX mode during the active times includes dividing each of the active time durations into at least one eDRX idle period and at least one eDRX paging period. The UE determines whether a set of criteria for implementing a variant of the PSM is met, and when the set of criteria is met, the UE implements the variant of the PSM, which includes powering down the UE to a deep sleep mode at least during eDRX idle periods.

The device may perform a mapping procedure to map the settings for the parameters associated with the device profile to one or more baseband configurations or baseband handles and the device may customize the baseband of the device using the one or more baseband configurations. As such, the device may operate or communicate using the baseband that is customized based on the device profile and application of the device.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a control message indicating a resource configuration for uplink and downlink transmissions. The UE may determine an uplink buffer threshold for a modem buffer of the UE based on the resource configuration. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a feedback request message requesting that the base station provide feedback for at least one previously transmitted uplink packet based on a comparison of an amount of previously transmitted uplink data and scheduled uplink data stored in the modem buffer relative to the uplink buffer threshold. The UE may receive, based on transmitting the feedback request message, a feedback response message corresponding to a first previously transmitted uplink packet of the at least one previously transmitted uplink packet.

The method generally includes: performing connection reestablishment in response to a triggering condition, the connection reestablishment comprising: suspending operation of at least one data radio bearer (DRB) for carrying user data, transmitting a connection reestablishment request to a base station (BS), receiving from the BS a connection reestablishment message, and transmitting a connection reestablishment complete message to the BS; and transmitting at least a portion of the user data over non-access stratum (NAS) signaling, before the operation of the at least one suspended DRB is resumed.

The UE may store the data transmission in a retransmission buffer, and transmit a feedback request to the receiver in a subsequent data transmission based on a system memory utilization threshold for the retransmission buffer being satisfied due to storage of the data transmission.
