Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently personalizing or locking a user equipment (UE) for operation with a specific operator. For example, a manufacturer may load multiple operator configurations associated with multiple operators in UE storage such that the UE may support operation with any of the multiple operators. The UE may then allow a user to select an operator from the multiple operators, and the UE may select and apply an operator configuration corresponding to the selected operator to lock the UE for operation with the selected operator. Thus, using these techniques, a user may be able to dynamically personalize or lock a UE for operation with a selected operator. Further, after being personalized or locked for operation with one operator, a UE may be more easily re-personalized or locked for operation with a different operator.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for priority fallback of SUCI calculation. In accordance with some implementation, a UE may transmit, in response to receiving an indication of authentication failure for a first SUCI based on a first SUCI parameter, a second SUCI based on a second SUCI parameter different from the first SUCI parameter. In accordance with some implementation, the UE may further transmit a SUCI with NULL SUCI parameter if the UE determines all SUCI parameters supported by the UE has been rejected by the network.

The method may further include determining that the UE is in communication with a first radio access network of the first operator and communicating in accordance with a second subscription associated with a second SIM card in a second card slot, the communicating allowed based at least in part on the first SIM card associated with the first operator being in the first card slot and the UE being in communication with the first radio access network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for recovery techniques for subscriber identification module (SIM) detection error are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine an operating mode for the UE based on a SIM card switch occasion. The SIM card switch occasion may be a “hotswap” occasion of a SIM card while the UE is powered on. The UE may power a SIM card associated with the UE based on the operating mode for the UE and a previous status of a SIM slot associated with the UE. The UE may detect a presence of the SIM card in the SIM slot based on powering the SIM card. The UE may set a SIM sensing operation at the UE based on the detected presence of the SIM card.

Abstract: The apparatus determines whether a subscriber identification module (SIM) card is an embedded universal circuit card (eUICC) or a non-eUICC while in a subsidy locked state. The apparatus performs a profile sequence to determine available network profiles if the SIM card is the eUICC. The apparatus may present an option at the user interface UI to switch network profiles on the UE if the current profile of the eUICC does not satisfy a personalization check on the ME.

The apparatus performs an unlock sequence for personalization based on a subscriber permanent identifier (SUPI) if the SIM card is determined to be a first network SIM card. The unlock sequence may include determining whether a SUPI of the first network SIM card matches with a SUPI stored in a secure file system (SFS) at the UE. The unlock sequence may further include initializing the UE to a network if the SUPI of the first network SIM card matches with the SUPI stored in the SFS at the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for multi-subscription management are described. A user equipment (UE) supporting a dual-subscriber identify module (SIM) configuration may identify a message to disable a subscription associated with a first SIM of a dual-SIM universal SIM (USIM) card. Disabling the first SIM may include powering down a modem stack associated with the first SIM while maintaining power to the first SIM. The UE may configure a SIM toolkit manager associated with a SIM toolkit for the first SIM to a disabled state based at least in part on the message. The UE may then indicate to the first SIM that the SIM toolkit manager is in the disabled state.
