Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for recovery techniques for subscriber identification module (SIM) detection error are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine an operating mode for the UE based on a SIM card switch occasion. The SIM card switch occasion may be a “hotswap” occasion of a SIM card while the UE is powered on. The UE may power a SIM card associated with the UE based on the operating mode for the UE and a previous status of a SIM slot associated with the UE. The UE may detect a presence of the SIM card in the SIM slot based on powering the SIM card. The UE may set a SIM sensing operation at the UE based on the detected presence of the SIM card.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station associated with a first radio access technology (RAT), an indication to add a secondary cell associated with a second RAT in a dual connectivity mode. The UE may receive, by a lower layer of the UE from the secondary cell, an indication that a random access channel (RACH) procedure associated with the secondary cell is successful. The UE may transmit, by an upper layer of the UE to an application of the UE, information to cause an indication of the second RAT to be displayed by the UE based at least in part on a bearer type associated with a link with the secondary cell and the indication that the RACH procedure with the secondary cell is successful. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may determine that its operating temperature exceeds an overheating condition threshold temperature, reducing overall device performance. To address the overheating condition, the UE may transmit an uplink control message containing UE assistance information to request a reconfiguration of one or more measurement parameters. In some cases, the UE may request to reduce one or more measurements associated with radio resource management (RRM). The UE may receive a downlink control message from a base station which indicates a reconfiguration of the measurement parameters, and the UE may implement the reconfiguration to mitigate the overheating.
