    摘要: Methods and structures are disclosed for use in implementing downlink spatial division multiple access (SDMA) in a wireless network. In at least one embodiment, a number of orthogonal sets of user devices are first identified within a coverage area. One of the identified orthogonal sets may then be selected based on a predetermined selection criterion. An SDMA exchange may then be initiated for the selected orthogonal set.

    摘要: In Spatial Division Multiple Access (SDMA) communications, mobile devices that are transmitting to a base substantially simultaneously during a predetermined communications phase may wait until after an end of the predetermined communications phase to receive acknowledgments to their transmissions, so that a mobile device making a relatively short transmission does not experience an acknowledgement timeout while another mobile device is still completing a relatively long transmission. In some embodiments, the mobile devices may transmit a non-immediate block acknowledgement request during the communications phase.

    摘要: An access point in a wireless network communicates with multiple mobile stations simultaneously using spatial-division multiple access. The access point transmits to the mobile stations frames that end at different times within a predefined window of time. When the predefined window in time is a short interframe space (SIFS) in an IEEE 802.11 compatible network, the access point will be done transmitting the frames in time to receive acknowledgements from the multiple mobile stations.
