    Abstract: A power assist system for a wagon is provided. The power assist system provides a rotational force to one or more drive wheels under certain conditions to provide propulsion for the wagon. The power assist wagon preferably includes a drive system for providing the rotational force to the drive wheel, a control system for determining when the drive system should be activated and how much propulsion assist to provide to the drive wheel, and a power system for providing power to the drive system. The power assist wagon may also have a safety cut-off system to preclude the drive system from providing a rotational force to the drive wheel 16 even when the system is in the “on” mode.

    Abstract: A ride-on vehicle is provided that has optional remote control capabilities. The ride-on vehicle comprises front and rear wheels, a steering wheel, a steering motor, a drive motor, an accelerator, a parent override switch and a main controller for controlling the drive motor and the steering motor based on input signals. A remote control is also provided to send signals to the main controller. The main controller provides for three modes of operation of the ride-on vehicle, including a child only drive mode, a partial child and partial remote drive mode, and a full remote drive mode, and wherein the main controller switches between the three modes of operation in real time based on signals received from the remote control and the parent override switch.

The power assist system preferably includes a wagon body having a plurality of wheels, at least one of which is a driven wheel, a pivotable handle, a drive system having a motor mechanically connected to the driven wheel, a microcontroller that obtains an input signal and provides an output signal to the drive system and, a safety cut-off system connected to the handle. In one embodiment the safety cut-off system includes a safety-control switch electrically connected to the microcontroller, and the microcontroller adjusts the signal sent to the drive system based on a state of the safety-control switch.

    Abstract: A ride-on vehicle is provided that has drive and spin functionalities. The ride-on vehicle comprises a first motor for a first drive wheel, and a second motor for a second drive wheel. The vehicle has a steering wheel having a go selector and a spin selector. A sensor obtains an output of the angular rotation location of the steering wheel. A controller is electrically connected to the first and second motors, the go selector, the spin selector, and the steering wheel sensor, wherein engaging the go selector and turning the steering wheel causes the vehicle to move forward, left or right, depending on the angular location of the steering wheel, and wherein engaging the spin selector and turning the steering wheel causes the vehicle to spin left or spin right, depending on the angular location of the steering wheel. The vehicle may also be controlled remotely by a remote control.
