Abstract: Each of first and second grounded-emitter amplifier transistors has a diode connected between its collector electrode and the base electrode of the other to provide a storage flip-flop. Third and fourth transistors have collector electrodes, each coupled to a source of triggering pulses by similar resistors; cross-coupled collector and base electrodes; and emitter electrodes, each connected to a separate one of the base electrodes of the first and second transistors and each connected to ground reference potential by a resistor. So connected, the third and fourth transistors provide a commutating flip-flop, functioning as a steering network for trigger pulses and providing for short term memory of the previous state of the storage flip during its transition in response to a triggering impulse. The use of diodes to cross-couple the collector and base electrodes of the first and second transistors in the storage flip-flop permits fast transitions of the storage flip-flop despite the use of pinch resistor collector loads for the first, second, third and fourth transistors and restricted amplitude triggering pulses, which are employed to reduce power consumption of the direct-coupled triggered flip-flop.

Abstract: A dual mode automatic phase controlled oscillator system employs multiple keyed phase comparators to produce control signals which are applied to lock the oscillator frequency and phase to a reference signal. One of the keyed comparators is continuously employed to produce an in-sync control signal. A coincidence gate is utilized to detect the existence of out-of-sync conditions, and associated circuitry produces a mode control signal which is applied to activate the second keyed phase comparator upon such occurrence. The second keyed comparator is thereby selectively operative during out-of-sync conditions to develop an additional control signal to enhance the pull-in characteristics of the system.

Abstract: Apparatus for subtracting a multiple of a first input current from a second input current and for providing an output current responsive to the resulting difference employs three transistors. Abstract: A controlled oscillator having an anti-resonant tank circuit tuned by an admixture of an adjustable portion of quadrature current responsive to oscillation signals appearing across the tank circuit. The adjustable portion of quadrature current is provided by adjustably splitting a fixed quadrature current into first and second fractions in a current splitter in response to a control signal, then subtracting the first fraction from the second to obtain a difference current which is applied to the tank circuit.
