    摘要: The present invention provides for an improved presence system, which can automatically and unobtrusively factor in the location of a person being monitored when creating presence information for dissemination to subscribers. Presence tags can be distributed at different locations, which may bear on the relative availability of the monitored person for communications. A mobile terminal associated with the monitored person is configured to automatically obtain tag information from the presence tags and deliver location-based state information to the presence server without human interaction. The presence server will process the location-based state information and any other applicable state information to create presence information for the person being monitored, and then deliver the presence information to subscribers.

    摘要: Architecture for normalizing phone numbers and other types of connection information for facilitating mobile communications for users outside their local service areas. When a mobile user attempts to make a connection to a destination entity while outside the user's regular service area, the current location of the user is determined by the system. A normalization rule is selected that corresponds to a local service area associated with the current location. The phone number or other type of connection data string is normalized to the standards of the local service area. The normalized data string is used to automatically complete the connection to the destination entity. In this way, communication is facilitated and simplified for mobile users while traveling abroad.

    摘要: Techniques to manage presence information are described. An apparatus may comprise a presence management component operative to manage presence information for a presentity node. The presence management component may comprise a presence normalization module operative to retrieve presence temporal information for a home time zone, and normalize the presence temporal information for a local time zone of the presentity node to form normalized presence temporal information. The presence management component may further comprise a presence control module communicatively coupled to the presence normalization module. The presence control module may be operative to send presence state information from the presentity node to a presence server based on the normalized presence temporal information.
