摘要: The present invention relates generally to the field of computing in resource-poor environments, such as mobile and/or wireless computing systems, and, more particularly, to a system and a method for adaptation-aware editing and/or progressive update propagation that enable authoring multimedia content and/or collaborative work on mobile and/or wireless computing systems and devices. A method for the exchange of a data document between a central data store and a client, the data document including one or more data elements, may be provided. The method may comprise transmitting the data document from the central data store to the client, wherein the transmitted data document received at the client includes data elements having a lower fidelity level as compared with the fidelity level of the data elements stored in the version of the data document at the data store, and modifying one or more data elements of the data document at the client. The method may also comprise identifying that the certain data elements of the data document have been modified by the client, and resolving content conflicts between the content of data elements modified by the client and the content of data elements at the central data store. The method may comprise transmitting the data document from the central data store to the client, wherein the transmitted data document received at the client includes data elements having a lower fidelity level as compared with the fidelity level of the data elements stored in the version of the data document at the data store. The method may also comprise transmitting additional data from the central data store to the client to increase the fidelity level of data elements of the data document received by the client, and resolving any content conflict between the content of data elements modified by the client and the content of the additional data transmitted from the central data stored to the client for the purpose of increasing the fidelity level of data elements of the data document received by the client.

摘要: A system and method for the automatic grading of mathematical expressions includes importing a hand-written answer, converting the hand-written answer to a LaTeX formula, creating a model with noise to compare one or more mathematical expressions, checking the correctness of derivations between the mathematical expressions, applying machine learning and/or state estimation theory to determine the mistakes, and suggesting correct coefficients for the derivation. The system and method may further include identifying the handwriting of students using machine learning to determine whether cheating or copying has occurred.

摘要: An exemplary device comprises a first and second protocol layer, and an information exchange service (IES) in communication with the first and the second protocol layers. The IES is configured to share control information between the protocol layers. A protocol layer is capable of adapting behavior based on the control information shared by the IES. An exemplary method is presented for communicating between publishing and subscribing layers in a protocol stack. The method comprises, in the publishing layer, specifying a selected attribute and an associated value to be shared with the subscribing layer. The method further comprises storing the specified attribute and associated value, and receiving a subscribe request from the requesting layer. The request specifies the published attribute. The method further comprises, in response to the request, providing the associated value to a subscribing layer, and in the subscribing layer, adapting behavior based on the shared control information.

摘要: A system and method for remote test administration are disclosed. The system includes a testing station having a processor and a memory in communication with the processor. The memory configured to store processor executable instructions configured to acquire biometric information related to a user, wherein the user is substantially adjacent to the testing station; identify at least one biometric vector within the acquired biometric information; and communicate the identified biometric vector. The system further includes a monitoring station configured to receive the biometric vector communicated by the testing station, the monitoring station having a processor and a memory in communication with the processor. The memory configured to store processor executable instructions configured to: compare the received biometric vector to a stored biometric vector and determine a recognition weight; group the biometric vector into one or more polling clusters based on the recognition weight and one or more recognition thresholds; and monitor the user at the testing station based on feature vectors associated with the one or more polling clusters.

摘要: A computer-implemented method for selecting a combination of devices from a plurality of available devices, each device having service description information associated therewith. A user request is received into a coordinating device which processes the service description information for any available electronic devices to identify functionally responsive combinations of electronic devices, each functionally responsive combination responsive the user request. A score is calculated for each functionally responsive combination, using user preference information. One of the functionally responsive combinations is selected according to it having the best scores. A user preferences and experience computer-implemented method is provided for selecting an ad-hoc combination of electronic devices.
