Abstract: A method for optimizing configuration of inter-frequency measurements for LTM of UE may be performed, at least in part by a serving gNB DU, and may include receiving intra-frequency information and inter-frequency information for one or more cells associated with one or more neighboring gNB DUs; determining whether at least one intra-frequency target cell, above a pre-defined threshold is available for LTM; based on determining that the at least intra-frequency target cell for LTM is unavailable, transmitting a first signal to a gNB centralized unit control plane (CU CP), wherein the first signal indicates to the gNB CU CP to configure a user equipment (UE) with inter-frequency L3 measurements associated with one or more inter-frequency target cells; and receiving, by the serving gNB DU, an inter-frequency L1 measurement report from the UE based on an inter-frequency cell belonging to a second gNB DU being prepared as a target cell among the one or more inter-frequency target cells for LTM.

Abstract: Provided are a method and system for handling L1/L2 triggered mobility (LTM) to reduce mobile latency. The method may include: transmitting, by a serving distributed unit (DU) to a user equipment (UE), a request to perform an uplink sync with a target cell of a target distributed unit (DU), wherein the UE performs the uplink sync with the target DU including transmitting a preamble signal to the target DU upon receiving the request, wherein the target DU determines a best beam group (BG) for the UE upon receiving the preamble signal; receiving, by the serving DU, a Random Access Channel (RACH) preamble based on the best BG, wherein the RACH preamble originates from the target DU; and executing, by the serving DU, a serving cell change (SCC) for the UE to one of a prepared target cell based on the RACH preamble.

Abstract: In general, the current subject matter relates to layer 1/layer 2 (L1/L2) triggered mobility (LTM) for intra-base station centralized unit user plane (CU-UP) relocation. In some implementations, a target distributed unit (DU) of a base station to serve a user equipment (UE) can be determined to be served by a target CU-UP of the base station. A serving CU-UP of the base station can serve a serving DU of the base station that is currently serving the UE. Using a centralized unit control plane (CU-CP) of the base station, the target CU-UP can be prepared for layer 1/layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM), and, using the CU-CP, the target DU can be prepared for LTM.

Abstract: Provided are method, system, and device for configuring inter-cell changes. The method may be implemented by receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a downlink signal, wherein the downlink signal originates from a serving distributed unit (DU), and wherein the downlink signal comprises at least one of a scheduling gap duration value, a start time value, and a target cell index; performing, by the UE during the scheduling gap duration, an uplink sync with a target cell, based on the downlink signal; and wherein the uplink sync includes sending, by the UE, a preamble transmission to a target cell to acquire a timing advance of the target cell, based on the downlink signal, wherein the target DU is one of a plurality of neighboring cells to the serving DU.
