摘要： A terminal block connecting apparatus includes first and second support members displaceable from a disengaged condition toward an engaged condition in which corresponding main terminal blocks are brought into electrical engagement, characterized by the provision of first and second test terminal blocks connected with the support members for electrical engagement when the first and second support members are in an intermediate condition between the disengaged and engaged conditions. One of the test terminal blocks is supported by a carrier member for movement relative to the associated support member, whereby the test terminal blocks will remain in electrical engagement during displacement of the support members between the test and connected conditions. A friction retaining arrangement serves to resist displacement of the carrier member relative to its associated support member.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a connector body that contains an open-topped chamber in which is mounted a stationary, upwardly-directed insulation-severing electrical contact, together with an operating member for displacing an insulated conductor laterally downwardly in the chamber. The operating member includes a flexible intermediate portion that permits the leading end of the operating member to be introduced initially downwardly into the chamber, and subsequently to be diverted upwardly relative to the connector body by a guide surface arranged at the bottom of the chamber. As the leading and trailing ends of the operating member approach their final positions relative to the connector body, the insulation layer of the conductor is severed by knife edges on the stationary contact, and the conductor is brought into electrical engagement contact with the contact.

摘要： A connector arrangement includes a housing containing at least one open-topped chamber in which is mounted a stationary upwardly-directed knife device, and a rectangular carrier member arranged for downward insertion within the chamber, thereby to displace an insulated wire supported by the carrier member toward a position in which the knife device pierces the insulation layer and is brought into electrical engagement with the conductor contained therein. The carrier member includes a top surface containing a slot for receiving the tip of an operating tool that displaces the carrier member downwardly in the chamber, and a side wall containing at least one lug and slot arrangement by means of which the carrier member may be upwardly displaced upon lever-like operation of the tool in cooperation with a side wall of the chamber. Preferably, the housing includes a plurality of the chambers arranged in one or more rows.

摘要： An impression cylinder provided with a replaceable sleevelike impression cylinder shell is movably and releasably mounted in a printing press by a bearing in such a manner that the impression cylinder adjacent to its one stub shaft is adapted to protrude freely from the machine frame and permit replacement of the impression cylinder shell. In order to permit a particularly simple replacement of the impression cylinder shell, the bearings are hinged bearings having bearing shell sections which can be swung off to a position in which they permit the impression cylinder to be swung out in a horizontal plane. The impression cylinder is provided at one end with a stub shaft, which extends beyond the associated hinged bearing and which at the top of its end portion is supportedd by a supporting shell section, which is axially immovably mounted in the machine frame for rotation about a vertical axis. A movable horizontal supporting rail or slideway is provided, which is movable from below into engagement with the impression cylinder, or with a shaft portion connected to the cylinder, at a location between the bearings. The rail or slideway is adapted to be fixed in position, so that the impression cylinder which is held between the supporting shell section and the supporting rail can be pivotally moved out of the opened hinged bearings about the vertical pivot for the supporting shell section.

摘要： A printing press having an impression cylinder with a bearing at each end an image carrier cylinder and a frame in which both cylinders are positioned. A device is provided for moving the impression cylinder between an engaged printing position cooperating with the image carrier cylinder and a disengaged position and also for producing a larger motion of the impression cylinder for the purpose of replacing the image carrier cylinder. A lead screw is provided for each bearing for lifting and lowering the bearing of the impression cylinder and a thrust piston and cylinder unit for acting on each bearing for urging the impression cylinder towards the image carrier cylinder. A nut engages each lead screw, each nut having a tubular section with a constant external diameter, and a pinion is mounted on each tubular section, and having a hub supported for pinion rotation in a fixed position relative to the frame. The pinion is rotatively locked to the tubular section for rotation and for sliding to a limited extent for maintaining the pinion in mesh with gearing for rotatively driving the pinion during the large motion. Each bearing is compensated by balance the weight of the bearing of parts connected with the bearing and of the impression cylinder.
