Abstract:
In a method of making a motor vehicle radiator, extruded hollow shapes of oval cross section provided inwardly with at least one longitudinally extending web lying transversely of the larger major axis of the oval cross section are reshaped, e.g. rolled, under pressure to a cross-sectional form of a flat profile tube having two parallel sides, soldered to cooling fins and fitted into a radiator housing. The extruded hollow shape is of light metal with a substantial oval cross section.
Abstract:
An aluminum or aluminum alloy shape for manufacture of heat exchangers is coated with a metallic layer of a zinc-base alloy constituting a fluxless soldering or low temperature brazing material when heated. A process for direct coating of formed aluminum shapes in nascent state includes the steps of providing a non-reactive atmosphere around the shape, providing a coating material of zinc-base alloy and bringing the aluminum shape and the coating material into contact and maintaining the contact at an elevated temperature for a predetermined period of time for forming a coherent coating on the aluminum shape.
Abstract:
Fluxless joining of aluminum members, one of which is provided wih a coating of zinc solder, includes preheating the assembled members to a temperature above the melting point of the solder coating and applying a multistep vibration to the assembled members at elevated temperature. A heat exchanging section has a core of spaced hollow aluminum shapes interconnected by thin aluminum fins extending through the zinc coating layer and having direct contact with the aluminum shapes.
Abstract:
A tire pressure monitoring system for a vehicle with at least one tire includes at least one pressure sensor adapted for sensing pressure inside the at least one tire. The system also includes at least one indicator adapted to communicate a stop signal indicating that pressure inside the at least one tire is equal to a target pressure. The indicator is also adapted to communicate a continue signal indicating that pressure inside the at least one tire is unequal to a target pressure. The continue signal is adapted to indicate how close the pressure inside the at least one tire is to the target pressure. The tire pressure monitoring system further includes a controller in communication with the at least one pressure sensor and the at least one indicator. The controller is adapted to determine the target pressure according to a predicted operating condition of the at least one tire.

Abstract:
A method for the recovery of hydrogen sulphide and other acid gas fractions from sour wellsite gas in hydrocarbon production is provided. The selected acid gas fractions are absorbed into a noncorrosive and transportable solvent solution at the wellsite, the rich solvent solution being transported to a central plant location where it is desorbed from the solvent solution for further handling or processing. The lean solvent solution can then be recycled. Multiple acid gas fractions could be recovered from the sour gas in question using a single appropriate solvent solution. Carbon dioxide could be absorbed and desorbed at the wellsite rather than at the central plant location. Clean gas is yielded at the natural gas into solvent wellsite for downstream processing or sale.
