Abstract: The specification discloses an electric oven control panel pivotally mounted on extensible arms. In an operational position, the control panel is supported flush against the oven with a gasket on the lower edge of the control panel engaging the front oven surface to prevent cooking fumes and gases from entering the control panel. In a service position, the control panel is pulled forward on the extensible arms away from the front oven surface and is rotated to a predetermined angle from its vertical position. Flanges on the panel engage the arms to limit rotation.

Abstract: The specification discloses an oven liner suspension assembly for rigidly suspending an oven liner, while allowing for expansion and contraction of the oven liner undergoing heating and cooling during cooking and self-cleaning operations. A pair of elongated anchor legs is secured to the rear portion of the oven liner, and each anchor leg extends a predetermined distance beyond the bottom wall of the oven liner. An L-shaped base member of each anchor leg is rigidly secured to a main base plate of the frame assembly for the oven, thereby allowing for lengthwise expansion and contraction of the oven liner. A center flange extending from the front of the oven liner is rigidly secured to a flange extending upwardly from the main base plate assembly such that the front of the oven liner is rigidly suspended above the main base plate the same predetermined distance the rear portion of the bottom wall of the oven liner is suspended above the main base plate. The suspension assembly thus allows for lengthwise, widthwise and heightwise expansion and contraction of the oven liner.

Abstract: The specification discloses a self-cleaning oven including an outer housing with an oven liner disposed within the housing in a spaced-apart relationship forming cavities between the housing and liner walls. A duct system is provided for directing air from the vicinity of the lower front and rear of the oven to the cavity between the top walls of the housing and liner. A heating element is mounted in a proximate relationship to a smoke eliminator panel mounted on the top liner wall. Smoke and gases emanating from the oven pass through apertures formed in the smoke eliminator panel to a vent tube. The vent tube discharges gases from the smoke eliminator panel into a discharge duct above the oven liner. A diluter tube encompassing the vent tube allows air to pass from the cavity between the top walls of the oven liner and the housing into the discharge duct. The air dilutes the smoke and gases from the oven liner, and the diluted smoke and gases are then exhausted from apertures in the front of the oven. In this arrangement, air flow results from thermal currents, and a fan is not required.

Abstract: A system for heating large volumes of liquid in an industrial or commerical tank. The system includes a gas fired heat generating sender located adjacent the tank, a heating element or receiver means located in the tank, and a closed loop heat transfer circuit having a heating and vaporization zone within which a working fluid is heated and vaporized by the heat generating sender. The closed loop heat transfer circuit also includes a condensation zone which is located within the receiver and within which the vapor is circulated and condensed for transferring heat to the receiver and the liquid in the tank. The sender includes a radiant burner whose products of combustion are exhausted downwardly past a liquid inlet line to preheat the liquid before the liquid enters the tank for subsequent heating by the working fluid in the receiver.

Abstract: A hinge mechanism is provided for use with an oven housing having side walls, a rear wall, an access opening opposite the rear wall and a door for the access opening wherein the door is movable through a plurality of positions between a closed position and an open position. The hinge mechanism includes a bracket rigidly mounted to the side wall of the oven structure for pivotally securing the door to the side wall of the oven housing. The bracket includes specifically designed camming surface along the top edge. A lever is pivotally secured to the door and includes first and second arm members. A spring having first and second ends is provided for biasing the lever toward the side wall of the oven housing. The first end of the spring is attached to the first arm member of the lever, and the second end of the spring is attached to the side wall of the oven housing adjacent the bracket. The second end of the lever includes a cam follower for engaging the camming surface of the bracket. The lever acting on the camming surface is operative to counterbalance the door so that the door can be balanced at desired positions between the door closed and open positions, and so that the door can be maintained in an unbalanced state at the ends of the door swing. The counterbalancing effect of the lever increases as the door moves from the door closed position to the door open position to match the force delivered by the spring as the spring extends due to the door moving from the door closed position to the door open position.

Abstract: The specification discloses an over liner having canted ribs for supporting an oven rack. The parallel elongated ribs are defined by converging canted upper and lower surfaces extending from the side walls of the oven liner into the oven cavity. A series of nodes are spaced along the upper surface of each rib to support an oven rack. A shoe protrudes from the lower surface of the ribs near the forward end of the oven cavity, the shoe engaging a boss formed on guide rails on two sides of the oven rack to prevent the rack from being completely withdrawn from the oven. The oven rack is a mesh formed of parallel bar members having guide rails disposed perpendicular to the plane of the mesh along two sides thereof. Supporting surfaces are provided at an angle to the rails so that the rack may be slidably supported at an angle to the horizontal by the nodes formed on the upper surface of the ribs. A boss projecting from the lower rear portion of the guide rails engages the shoe on the lower rib surface to prevent the rack from being completely withdrawn from the oven cavity.
