摘要： A high efficiency current limit circuit comprises a current sensor, a control unit responsive to the current sensor for providing a control signal to a solid-state series pass element which limits load current. A thermal safety circuit provides overtemperature circuit protection. Together, the current limit circuit and thermal safety circuit provide continuous short circuit protection (of indefinite time duration) with automatic recovery upon removal of the short.

摘要： A Power-On-Reset (POR) Circuit compares a logic supply voltage to a reference voltage and provides a logic voltage validity signal if the logic voltage is greater than the reference voltage; the circuit delays, on startup, the validity signal for a selected period and then provides a drive signal for driving a solid-state switch which provides an open circuit on the presence of the drive signal, indicating logic voltage validity, and a short circuit in its absence, indicating invalidity; and the circuit immediately disables the drive signal if the logic voltage falls below the reference voltage. The selected start-up delay period is independent of the supply voltage magnitude.

摘要： A high efficiency MOSFET sine wave generator is provided using the class D pulse width modulation principle. A triangle wave at f.sub.0 is compared to a variable amplitude sinusoid at about 1/10 f.sub.0 to provide a pulse width modulated signal for driving a pair of power MOSFETS connected for switching a B+ and a B- power supply. The power switch output is LC filtered and fedback for regulating the amplitude of the modulating sinusoid.

摘要： A three-terminal series regulator achieves high efficiency by using an enhancement mode P-channel or N-channel FET for the series regulating element, respectively, for positive or negative voltage regulation thereby eliminating the need for a boost voltage and also minimizing the input-to-output voltage differential at high power levels. Short circuit protection is provided using output voltage and current foldback.
