摘要: The act of heating water within a contained vessel that is common to most buildings, whether residential or commercial or located in recreational vehicles, mobile homes, aircraft, ships or marine pleasure craft, causes calcium carbonate to precipitate out and settle to the bottom of a heating or fluid containing vessel. The use of ultrasonic transmission within the vessel will agitate the water held within, preventing the normally stagnant hot water from producing calcium carbonate. Other benefits are the cleaning properties of ultrasonic transmission. Thus the internal parts of hot water heaters will enjoy a longer life. This benefit of agitation will also be found when applied to vessels that contain fluids that share similar problems as hot water heaters.

摘要: A publication is distributed by an automated publication delivery system. Activity around a physical location of the automated publication delivery system is monitored. In response to detection of an increased activity level around the physical location of the automated publication delivery system, additional copies of the publication are printed for distribution. For example, the automated publication delivery system is a kiosk and the publication is a newspaper. Monitoring is performed, for example, using a microphone to monitor noise level, an optical sensor to detect movement near the automated publication delivery system, and/or a motion detector to detect movement near the automated publication delivery system.

摘要: A system and methods are provided for controlling a surveying device. In one embodiment, a method includes displaying a control screen including image data captured by a surveying device, detecting an input associated with the control screen, and determining a control command for the surveying device based on the input associated with the control screen. The method may further include controlling operation of the surveying device based on the control command, wherein the surveying device is configured to rotate in one more of a horizontal and vertical direction based on the control command. The device and methods may advantageously allow for precise pointing of a surveying device and translation of input position to surveying device commands.

摘要: A method for producing a carpet mat by injection molding, includes providing an injection mold including a cavity and a complementary core, each defining a portion of a mold recess for accommodating the finished carpet mat, providing the cavity with a surface having at least one vacuum opening bordered by a peripheral retaining barrier, applying vacuum to the core, inserting a sheet of carpet into the recess of the cavity and against the surface so that the carpet is in contact with the cavity, so that the carpet is held in the recess by the vacuum. Next, the cavity and core are closed together, thus sealing the recess, and a flowable supply of plastic is injected into the recess. Finally, the mold is opened after a specified period, allowing the plastic to at least partially solidify.
