    摘要： A digital TV (DTV) incorporates a TV white space device capable of operating on plural TV frequencies and responsive to the DTV processor to send a signal to an interfering white space device nearby the DTV that is interfering with a TV channel being presented on the TV. The signal sent from the TV white space device to the interfering white space device alters operation of the interfering white space device so as to reduce if not eliminate the interference.

    摘要： Apparatus and method for temporarily adjusting parental control restrictions without password entry or traversing configuration menus within a video device configured for displaying video or outputting a video stream to a display. Parental control can be implemented on television sets, fixed and removable video player devices, gaming consoles and personal computers. One implementation describes the use of a separate remote control device for adjusting parental control restrictions, such as automatically lifting the restrictions when the remote control is detected within a desired proximity of the video device. Alternatively, or additionally, the user can set a level of restriction using the remote control. One implementation describes an integrated bio-metric sensor device configured for identifying the individual as one for which the restrictions are to be adjusted. One implementation modifies the electronic program guide (EPG) in response to the presence of the supervisory party.

    摘要： Parental control settings are provided to a display device by a user. In one embodiment, the display device generates a message, such as a consumer electronic control (CEC) message, which corresponds to the user-provided parental control settings. This message may then be transmitted to one or more source devices to which the display device is connected via an HDMI interface. The HDMI-connected devices may then modify or otherwise conform their own parental control settings in accordance with the parent control data in the received message. In one embodiment, the display device may then receive content from the HDMI-connected devices which has already been pre-filtered in accordance with the parental control settings that were provided directly to the display device.
