摘要: A lightweight, high-strength load bearing floor structure includes a core made of expanded polyolefin foam material and a layer of material bonded or otherwise attached to an upper surface and a lower surface of the core to sandwich the core. The layer of material is made of a lightweight, high-strength material, such as a metallic material, or the like. An upper panel and lower panel may be mounted to the metallic layers, and a decorative covering may be applied to one of the upper and lower panels. The core and layers of material form a high modulus, high stiffness, lightweight composite structure suitable for load bearing floor applications, or the like.

摘要: A movable cargo floor assembly for a vehicle providing at least a portion of the cargo floor moving closer to an entrance of the vehicle or extending beyond or outside the vehicle when it is in a deployed position, and the cargo floor being in a stowed position when not in the deployed position. In addition, the cargo floor has at least one ramp surface integrated into the base of the cargo floor, and a track that is integrated into the ramp surface so that a gear assembly contacts the track and moves the cargo floor to and from a deployed position and a stowed position. Thus, as a gear rotates it contacts the teeth of the track and causes the cargo floor to move between positions.

摘要: A locking hinge (10) includes a first hinge panel (12a) and a second hinge panel (12b) pivotably connected by a pivot pin (14) about a pivoting axis (P). A locking rod (16) is slidably received by one of the first or second hinge panels (12a, 12b) along a sliding axis (S). The sliding axis (S) is substantially parallel the pivoting axis (P). A vehicle door structure (50) includes a first panel (102a) pivotably connected relative a second panel (102b) by a first hinge (104a). A third panel (102c) is pivotably connected relative the second panel (102b) by the locking hinge (10). Pivotable movement of the second panel (102b) relative the third panel (102c) is prevented when the locking hinge (10) is in a locked state. The third panel (102c) is pivotably connected to a vehicle floor (106) by a second hinge (104c) to permit unobstructed access to a stowage cavity (125) under the vehicle floor (106) for stowing a collapsible stow-to-floor seat (150).

The long reinforcement fibers have a length of at least three-quarters of an inch. The plastic material may be a thermoplastic and the reinforcement fibers may be comprised of glass fibers. The cross-car beam may also include a first portion comprised of a metallic material, such as magnesium, and a second portion comprised of the plastic material impregnated with long reinforcement fibers.
