    摘要: A socket connector includes an insulative carrier having opposite first and second sides and a plurality of vias extending between the first and second sides. A plurality of polymer columns is held by the carrier. Each polymer column includes a first end extending from the first side of the carrier and a second end extending from the second side of the carrier. A contact array is disposed on each first and second side of the carrier. Each contact array comprises a flexible sheet having a plurality of conductive elements having contact tips proximate corresponding first and second ends of the polymer columns. The conductive elements on the first side of the carrier are electrically connected to corresponding conductive elements on the second side of the carrier through the vias in the carrier to establish electrical paths between corresponding contact tips on the first and second sides of the carrier.

    摘要: An interconnect member for socket connector includes a carrier having opposite first and second sides. A plurality of polymer columns are held in the carrier. Each polymer column includes a first end extending from the first side of the carrier and a second end extending from the second side of the carrier. A contact array includes a plurality of electrical contacts held in the carrier. Each of the plurality of contacts includes a body that extends through the carrier and opposite end portions positioned to engage respective first and second ends of the polymer columns. Each end portion includes a contact tip configured to electrically engage a contact pad on one of a circuit board and an electronic package. The polymer columns simultaneously provide a predetermined normal force to establish reliable electrical connectivity between the circuit board and the electronic package and a predetermined working range for the interconnect member.

The connector body includes interconnects that extend through the connector body between the first and second mating surfaces for electrically coupling the module and the component. The connector body has a hole extending therethrough along a central axis. The hole is configured to receive a guide pin from one of the module and the component. The connector also includes surface mount projections that are coupled to the connector body and extend toward the central axis of the hole. The projections engage and flex against the guide pin when the guide pin is inserted into the hole. The projections form an interference fit with the guide pin to hold the connector body in a mounted position.

The connector includes a substrate that has first and second surfaces separated by a thickness. The substrate includes interconnects that extend through the substrate and are arranged in an array. The connector also includes alignment members that extend through openings in the substrate. The alignment members include heads that project beyond and away from the first surface.     摘要: A connector assembly includes a housing, a contact and a compressive coupling member. The housing has a mating interface and a mounting interface on opposing sides of the housing. The mounting interface is configured to engage a first substrate when the housing is mounted to the first substrate. The mating interface is configured to mate with a mating connector that is mounted to a second substrate. The housing is configured to engage and interconnect the substrates in a parallel arrangement. The contact extends between and protrudes from the interfaces of the housing and is configured to provide an electrical connection between the substrates. The compressive coupling member is configured to extend through the substrates and the housing in a direction transverse to the interfaces. The coupling member is configured to apply a compressive force to the housing to secure the housing with the mating connector to electrically and mechanically interconnect the substrates.
