摘要： A hermaphroditic back cover and strain relief part for an electrical connector is disclosed. The part is intended to be mounted on an electrical connector along with an identical part to form a back cover and strain relief. The back cover part comprises a rearward end and first, second, and third co-extensive sidewalls, the first and second sidewalls being parallel to each other and the third sidewall extending normally of the other sidewalls. An inclined shoulder is provided on the external surface of the first sidewall. Means are provided for securing the part to a connector housing and for securing the part to an identical part in opposed relationship thereto. In use, the two parts are mounted on the rearward end of the connector housing with the conductors extending beyond the rearward ends of the parts. The internal surface of each second sidewall is positioned over the recessed surface adjacent to the shoulder of each first sidewall to form an enclosure around the connector.

摘要： An electrical connector assembly for connection to an electrical cable comprises; an insulative housing block, conductive signal contacts on the housing block, a ground bus on the housing block connected to at least one selected signal contact, wire connecting portions of the signal contacts appear at corresponding first openings formed in the housing block, wire connecting portions of the ground bus appear at corresponding second openings of the housing block, and the housing block is formed to surround and insulate each of the signal contacts to allow insertion of the signal contacts into an insulative housing.

摘要： Electrical connector assembly comprises a housing having a plurality of cavities therethrough and a retainer having a like plurality of cavities therethrough, said housing and retainer being latchably matable so that said cavities and passages are coaxially aligned. Retainer has contact engaging means formed as sets of spring fingers radially arranged about respective passages and extending from the forward face of the retainer to distal ends of the fingers. Each set of fingers defines a first diameter at said forward face and a second smaller diameter toward said sital ends, the fingers spreading apart resiliently as a contact inserted through the passage reaches the smaller diameter, the fingers returning so that the distal ends engage a shoulder on the contact when same is fully inserted. The fingers and cavities are profiled so that the distal ends will stub against the rearward face of the housing rather than entering cavities when the fingers are spread apart, thereby precluding mating of the housing and retainer when contacts are not fully seated.
